297 Tasting Notes
Ok, so I bought this & a bagel to kill time while I was waiting for a store to open this morning. Bought myself a new bathing suit, for my birthday pool party! woooooooo
I got a large, 2 bags in. I let it steep for a couple of minutes. All I got was artificial blueberry taste. UGH ok Tim Horton’s, you are a Canadian company, you should know good blueberry. BLECH!
I ended up tossing the cup.
The water temp scale cannot go high enough for how hot this stupid crap was!
Preparation
I stopped by the store today, looking to try something iced.
Let me tell you I smelt a lot of nasty smelling teas. YUCK! This one was off putting in scent. But I tried it anyways because I love cranberry & I love Singapore slings.
This is freakin nasty! So much cough medicine taste!
Preparation
Not sure why this isn’t logged because I have definitely had it before.
I way over steeped this.
Surprisingly given the long steep this tea holds up really well, no astringency or bitterness.
This may be better than I remember it to be the first time. Last time I drank it out of a clear mug & it looked very unappealing because it steeps up very murky. Today I drank it from my travel mug so I thankfully couldn’t see it.
Looks aside this was quite good, I found it tasted like a chocolate chai, maybe the best chocolate chai I’ve had. It was a really nice tea to sip all day, a lot of teas get bitter over time or change flavour, this one stayed really delicious all the way through.
Preparation
I bought this when I had my first cold in over a year, but by the time I got this tea it was over.
So right now I’ve got some type of cold/allergies going on, my throat is super scratchy & a bit sore & I’m so congested its ridonculous!
So I brewed this up, it definitely helped while I was drinking it and for a bit after. It’s really not pleasant tasting, but I never expect anything for illness to taste good.
It tastes like a slightly sweet spaghetti sauce, quite strange.
Preparation
This note is from a long time ago.
This tastes foul, down right like I am eating leaves. YUCK!
I did use it to treat my cramps & as an effective cramp suppressant this gets 100! As a tasty, I want to drink you all the time, a big fat 0.
Preparation
Alright so I got the re-blend of this last week. & right from smelling the packet this morning, there was something off. It had an almost fruity scent to the dry leaves.
Much the same once steeped, it’s almost fruity & only slightly pancakeish. I did add a touch of maple syrup, which maybe is what really threw the cup off for me. But it was not the yumminess I remember
Preparation
I wonder if it’s related to this; http://steepster.com/discuss/5142-off-flavor-in-some-of-our-recent-blends-dot-dot-dot
I received this in a swap
I originally started brewing this to make it iced, so I used 4 bags, then I discovered I had no ice…. boo
So I ended up with 4 bags steeped in about 8 oz of water, with an additional 8oz of water added to my travel mug.
You can tell it’s over leafed, but it’s still really tasty.
It’s light, creamy, citrusy & a touch of spice (very minimal).
Next time I’m sure 2 bags will suffice in my 16oz mug.
Preparation
This is really kinda gross.
It’s so strongly rooibos & not really much of anything else. You do get a touch of fruits, but it’s more of an artificial, chemicaly fruit flavour.
Oh well I used what was in my tin to fill my pitcher with it. So I guess I’ll just toss it, unless my youngest drinks it, which at the time she said she liked.
Preparation
Thank tea fairy Sil! :)
I tried to savour this, this morning seeing as it was a sample, but it was so good it went down a little quicker than I expected.
You know how some teas are perfect, & not a thing about them should be changed? Yes? well this is that tea for me…. mmmm the cherry flavour, but it’s not regular cherry it’s choke cherry, which I used to pick with my dad, grandma, uncles & cousins when we would go ATVing in the bush.
And the added hint of the pine takes this over the edge & reminds me of my childhood. So perfect!
