297 Tasting Notes
I received this in a swap.
I seem to be the only who isn’t loving this tea. To me I find it tastes like a genmaicha. Until I have something creamy, then when I take a sip of this it becomes, pure creamy, nutty goodness. Mmmm I wish it tasted like this all the way through, because it would be near perfection.
I definitely want to try this again.
Preparation
blech!
I don’t know if I over leaved & over steeped, but this is awful!
It basically taste like burnt pieces of food. No chocolate, no marshmallow, no graham…. just burnt!
Try airing it out for a bit maybe? I think Frank said something about the new blends needing to sit a bit before the flavours meshed right. I think he posted in the discussion area, but I’m afraid I don’t remember the post!
Yeah, I remember seeing his post about this too and I think it was exclusive to the genmaicha blends (though I may be wrong about that). Airing it out should fix it.
My order in which I split the 2 VITs with Charoma arrived today, the delivery guy nearly gave me a heart attack today.
It smells very banana in the dry leaves with a hint of coconut that leads to a creamy scent. This definitely smells like pudding & not just banana.
This is so delicious. I used a touch less leaves than normal & did a 3 min-ish steep.
So much banana pudding. YUMMY!
This would make a fabulous iced latte, just need a recipe!
Just the deliciousness I needed today!
Preparation
I killed it, it’s dead!
:( WAY over steeped this, I’m getting nothing but tobacco flavours. I was really hoping for a delicious Pom flavoured oolong. But I went & ruined it.
I’m having a super stressful & anxiety filled day. So I needed delicious. But this is most likely my fault.
Definitely try it again. Sometimes I can’t brew tea well when I’m having an off day emotionally. I hope things have calmed down for you.
Thanks CHAroma, the last 4 weeks have been a kick in life’s proverbial balls. It can end any time now.
I love spicy things & I seem to be drawn to spicy & fruity teas.
this one may possibly be even better than Mango Diablo.
the scent of the tea is very familiar, however I still cannot place what it is.
you kind of get smacked in the mouth with the spice & followed directly with sweet citrus, fruitiness.
mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm so delish
ETA: had this iced over the weekend, while still really good it looses almost all the spicy kick.
Preparation
I received this in a swap.
this cup was so clear it was quite spectacular.
this is so delicious. I don’t know what potato pancakes are suppose to taste like, but this is so good. you get the buttery vegetal notes & the hint of cinnamon & apples. mmmmmm I could drink this all the time.
Preparation
I received this in a swap from Courtney
There is definitely not as much coconut in my leaves as I expect, or as what other people got in theirs.
The dry leaves smell delicious, sweet, chocolate & nutty.
It’s chocolaty & a bit nutty, reminds me some what of S&V Almond sugar cookie, but without that stale taste.
I was definitely hoping for coconut, but it’s still mighty tasty. Bakey, chocolate cookie goodness!
Preparation
And again I don’t listen & brewed this up with the gum still in it, when a globby white chunk floated to the top I freaked, until I remembered it was the gum…. oops
I made this into an iced tea in my new beverage dispenser, I ended up using the full 50g in this jug & it was only about half full. I added some rock sugar, because I expected my girls to drink it. We’ll see what’s left when I get home.
I have to say profile wise it’s pretty similar to Jelly Bean Dream, except I definitely get bubble gum aspects. So it could totally be psychological, but whatever I taste it.
It’s sweet strawberry followed by bubble gum. Yummy!
Strawberry wise though it is nothing like Wild Strawberry from my local tea shop, it’s more like candy strawberry.
Preparation
This is an interesting blend.
It’s fruity & chai like. It’s a much different chai than what I’m used to. It was a bit light on flavour despite my amount of leaves I use. You definitely get the berry flavours out front, followed by the muted chai spices.
Overall though a nice fruity, spicy blend.
Preparation
Received this one as a sample with my order.
It’s very lemony smelling, taste wise that lemon doesn’t come off nearly as strong. It’s slightly lemony & black tea tasting. It’s an alright tea, nothing special.
I was ok with this one until I got the cigarette after taste. Ick.
ETA: I had this again, I added some plain pu’erh because I found this to be mostly lemon. It was much better that way.
Stacy sent me a sample of this one with one of my orders, and I wasn’t too crazy about it either. I do want to try it out again, though! I usually don’t add milk to my tea, but I remember thinking that this tea would benefit from it.
Yeah, I found this one rather bland after all the hype. But some people love it!
