6444 Tasting Notes
Finally a tea from my Teavana Order that I am not pouring down the drain! This one is not nearly as oily as the others and thank god for that. However, it is not the greatest cup I have ever had.
This smells a lot like artificial banana flavoring both dry and when brewed. The tea tastes of subtly of rooibos at the beginning and then ends with the artificial banana flavor. I am glad I didn’t immediately want to pour the cup down the drain but I don’t know how quickly I will be making another cup of this.
ETA: The flavors come out more as this tea cools. It might make a nice iced tea.
Preparation
So making this at home, the oil was far more noticeable (obviously) than it was when I got one to go. Due to the oil, I don’t think I would drink this straight but I do still enjoy it as a latte. I understeeped it which meant it was less minty than the first latte I had but the mint was still present and delicious. Plus there is still the sweet white chocolate to compliment the mint. I dropped the rating for this because of the oil but I do still enjoy this far more than the Teavana version.
Preparation
Thank you Lovelylotus for this tea! I was surprised because I worried that the melon would be too subtle but I am definitely tasting it. This is a nice tea – not too heavy. It would be interesting to try this iced so perhaps I will do that next.
Preparation
After my day of pouring out cup after cup I decided I wanted a tea that I knew would make me smile. Enter my sample of Lime Chiffon from Dexter3657. The familiar smell of sweet lime goodness filled my nose as the tea brewed and I could not wait to have a sip. Unfortunately I think I underleafed this because it is not nearly as flavorful as last time but luckily it is still amazing! Thanks Dexter3657!
Preparation
This is yet another tea I poured out. Though the dry leaf smelled sweet and delicious, the finished product tasted more medicinal than anything. Into the swap box!
Preparation
You noticed that, did you? Today has not been my day for tea. However, to make up for all the failures, I brewed myself some Lime Chiffon so hopefully that will make things better.
well, i can sedn you off some hello sweetie if you’d like. stacy lim as you well know is brilliant. even if her cup of tea isn’t your cup of tea she is still marvelously refined. PM me if you’re interested. =0)
Sipdown! Well sort of, there was about a tsp left so I gave it to my roommate to eat. This blend makes water cloyingly sweet but doesn’t add any flavor. It went down the drain.
Preparation
The smell of this brewed is rather cloying and very hard to get passed. The taste of caramel is there but weak and the aftertaste is salty. I am definitely not a fan. This cup is going down the drain and the rest of the 10 g I have is going into the swap box which seems to be growing rather quickly.
Preparation
Hopefully you enjoy it more than I did. Tbh salted caramel teas just have not been my thing. I was not a fan of this and I didn’t really enjoy Teavana’s CocoCaramel Sea Salt.
I was okay with CocoCaramel Sea Salt, although I only had it in a blend with some honeybush and something else… blanking out now.. that the staff member told me was her “personal blend” to make it into Red Velvet Cake. While I got a different flavor feel from it, it was still a nice combo.
When drinking this tea, I taste coconut and rooibos. The pepper sneaks through at the end of the sip. I can’t quite put my finger on why but I don’t think I am much of a fan. I will try this again to be sure but I just don’t think it is for me. However, thank you Aimee Popovacki for this sample!
Preparation
I am just going to start this by saying I think I should invest in a thermometer because right now my method for testing if the water is the right temperature to brew my tea is to stick my finger in it. It really is not the best method.
Anyways, on to the tea. I bought this because in the container the dry leaf smells very strongly of marzipan. When brewed, the marzipan is still there but there is also hints of a more green/vegetal scent. The taste is close to marzipan or perhaps an almond cookie which would be great if it didn’t finish off with a dry and almost chemical note that seems to plague many of Kusmi’s teas. Luckily the chemical not for this is not nearly as bad as it was for Kusmi’s Passion Fruit White Tea so I think I will be able to get through this cup and then some but I doubt I will be able to finish the 75g of it I had to buy. If anyone is interested in trying some, feel free to message me.
Preparation
Yeah I would tend to think so because my finger method is not a very good measure. I just always forget to pick on up when I am at the store. I am too focused on the tea itself.
if you have meat thermometer in the house..it’s a substitute until you get a kettle or tea thermometer haha
I know i’ve seen a better description but I mostly use the bubble method to guess water temp.

I am on the fence with this tea. The chocolate really only came through in smell. The hot tea, for me, was a bit too floral due to the rose petals (I find floral teas can easily turn perfume-y which has a artificial and chemical taste to it that just is not pleasant). However, there was some subtle hints of the sweet strawberry that I liked. Also, I tried this as a latte and thought the milk brought out the berry notes quite nicely and got rid of the perfume-y issue I was having. Overall, this is not a bad cup but not something I would reach for so I am glad I only bought 10 g of this.
