It could be age but this tastes like card board. I dumped the cup and tossed the rest of the sample.

Made this as a latte and honestly, it’s basically the same as the plain hot tea. It’s not richer or thicker or anything more as a latte than it is as a plain tea. Either way, it tastes like a Terry’s chocolate orange.

My sister had the perfect amount of both tea and lemonade left for one more tea lemonade with this. Love when things work out that way. So she asked for her regular tea lemonade, which my brother-in-law now happily shares with her. I snagged a sip because while I don’t need this all the time, it is nice every once in a while and the sip was quite refreshing. We are now looking at the DAVIDs website to order her more…

Sipdown (302)…not actually though since I decided to pass on the rest of this sample rather than drink it.

Tomorrow is my last exam and I have slacked on studying because its a topic I am comfortable with. However, I am trying to get in some last ditch studying today and pulled this tea out to help me push through.

Alas, this flavor profile is 100% not for me. Rosemary and mate are both not necessarily on my list of flavors I enjoy. Then apple and hibiscus add some fruity quality but nothing tasty or bold enough to keep my attention. It’s not bad but it’s also not for me which is why the rest is being passed on. It’s a bit like medicine in the rainforest tbh.

Yay for exams!
Well, here we still have no idea how exams will look like. If exams will be in 5 person groups, or they let all of us?
Minister of Education don’t know, rector don’t know and teachers… obvioulsly don’t know either.

We, students? You will get everyting just in time you can prepare enough. We are now banned to entry all University premises…

I know how stressful it is when you don’t know what is happening. Thankfully our school went pass/fail so we still need to do the work but they understand it may not be the priority it usually is. I am mostly just looking forward to it being over at this point. I hope you find out soon what’s happening with your exams.

Cold Brew Sipdown

It was ok but not my favourite. Thanks for sharing Roswell Strange!

The combination of peppermint and mocha is making this come off almost dirty. I don’t know how to describe it but today the flavors really aren’t working and as a latte it is coming off quite thin. The one solace is the sprinkles and whipped cream on top.

I had high hopes for this one but ultimately I am not loving it.

This was picked by the random selector and I cold brewed it but this did not go well since it mostly tastes like grass. Thanks for sharing Roswell Strange but cold brewing was not the way to go with this one.

Cold Brew Sipdown (304)

Another random selection. Finishing this one off as a cold brew because it’s definitely best cold. Today it’s tangier than usual and something is a touch too sweet (my guess is the blackberry leaves). It’s fine but not anything I need to keep stocked.

My cupboard has grown exponentially since joining this site and I have a lot to share. Feel free to snoop through my cupboard and message me if anything interests you – I am always happy to swap!

For me, flavored teas are definitely my sweet spot. I will most often reach for black teas and rooibos or honeybush blends but I do keep some flavored whites and greens around for when the mood strikes. I have a few herbals/tisanes but most of the time I find myself disappointed by them as they often smell deliciously sweet and then end up tasting tart/sour. I have a little bit of an aversion to pu’erh and oolong teas. I am also wary of florals, earl greys, and chai teas. I do not like overpowering citrus flavors nor do I usually like hibiscus, licorice or chamomile. I love dessert teas – caramel, vanilla, toffee, cookie, cream, and other sweet flavors make me smile. Fruits like strawberry, peach, mango, and pineapples will often catch my attention as well.

I have also realized that although I really enjoy adding frothed milk to some of my teas, if I do not like the tea with zero additives (just in plain water without milk or sugar), I probably won’t drink it. The one exception is flavored matchas which I will happily drink in cold milk if I do not like it mixed with hot water. My theory is if the tea can’t stand on its own then it is not for me and I will more than likely try to swap it out for something else.

Tea Ratings Guide (as of December 10, 2017)
90-100 Teas I NEED on hand at all times
80-89 Teas I want to keep around for a cup every now and then
70-79 Teas I am glad I have around and can experiment with but probably don’t need more than what’s in my cupboard
60-69 Teas I would not turn down a cup of from a friend but that would probably be enough
50-59 Teas I can see why someone would enjoy but are not for me
Under 50 Teas I really did not like and most likely got dumped
