253 Tasting Notes
Back to back tie guan yins. I just tried Yezi tea’s master grade TGY and followed it with this one to compare. I didn’t expect it to be quite as good as Yezi’s since this one is not “master grade” but it was still disappointing to have such a lack of flavor. The wonderful floral and perfumey notes that the other tea had were lacking here. You could kind of taste them as an aftertaste, as if this was just old tea that’s lost most of it’s flavor. I was able to get more flavor in the later infusions with the increased steeping times, so maybe timing is the only issue here. Luckly Adagio’s sample for this tea is generously sized, so I should be able to try it out at least two more times.
Preparation
My first tie guan yin! Very floral and perfumey. Loved it <3
Followed the steeping time on the website and started with 45 seconds and worked up. By the 3rd infusion, I thinking it would haven been better to add 15 or 20 seconds rather than 10, but now at least I know for next time :)

Preparation
I got two new spearmint plants and a peppermint plant. I’ve been drinking mint tea ALL. DAY. :D
They had a chocolate mint plant there too. I think I might go back for it! I’ve never ever heard of strawberry or lavender mint do they taste like you’d expect?
I don’t know yet? They came from Amazon and I am waiting a week before even transplanting, much less harvesting them. I will have to let you know!
Wow, I’ll definitely check that out. I wouldn’t worry too much. Mint is hard to kill, and the ones that I leave alone actually don’t do as well as the ones that I use the most. Clipping encourages growth! :)
I don’t like green tea and I don’t like this tea. :( I told my boyfriend not to get me tea gifts anymore. lol
Awww. He was sweet for trying. My boyfriend tried too at Christmas and I opened up a big old package of…..teavana :-/. Poor guys don’t get it lol
Lol he told me yeeears ago never to get him anything computer related and I hadn’t even tried! Sometime you just have to know when to quit. :P
I also laughed out loud. He probably asked someone else for help, and they directed him to this because tea drinkers like green tea.
Actually he’s an Amazon addict and got me this set so that I can try lots of teas at once :P Really sweet thought. http://smile.amazon.com/Taylors-Harrogate-Classic-Variety-Count/dp/B0062JSYEW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403644316&sr=8-1&keywords=taylors+tea+variety
Well at least that’s the only green in the set! Off-topic, that is a really weird thing to make into an Add-On item…
Stopped at Teavana and got this tea this weekend when I went up north for a wedding. I don’t like black tea, but apparently I like ripe pu-erh! For some reason I have to add more sugar than normal to enjoy it, but once I do, it tastes quite delicious :)
Wow, I’ll have get a sample of this next time I order from Adagio. You make it sound so good! And I love peaches, too.
How do you prepare this tea?! I have some but it tasted a bit watery to me… Teach me your ways, please!:P
I use more than they recommend. Like for a 16 ounce mug I use 16 ounce mug I’ll probably use a heaping tablespoon. For one cup, two teaspoons instead of one! This is probably why I run out so quickly, but it’s totally worth it!
Well, I’m definitely going to have to try this!^.^ I’d rather have fewer delicious cups of tea than many ehh cups:P Thank you!
no prob!
