This was a pleasant surprise. I don’t normally love teas with spearmint. I find it too strong on the menthol and unable to taste anything else, but in this case, this tea seems to have layers. The spearmint, the peppermint, and I think lemon, all work well together. At this point it’s quite a few years old, but it still tastes lovely.

… this green supermarket tea on the other hand, is terrible. I’m not sure if this box that I got (from work for free) was just super stale or old, but it was awful. Flat, watery, burnt-tasting. I really did not enjoy it at all and it truly had no redeeming factors. Could be that it was old and stale, but it was an unopened box and very disappointing.

Edit: the tea expires in July of 2023, so 8 months away from now.

It’s a supermarket green tea but actually one of my favourites. Really clean, grassy taste and it never tastes flat or like it’s too old. Cheap and cheerful and a lovely tea when I’m sick. It goes really nice with honey or lemon honey also.

Flavors: Grass, Green, Umami, Vegetal

I thought I would like this tea more than I did. I’ve enjoyed (and still enjoy) a lot of black teas with maple flavouring, but this feels a little too sweet and too creamy, and slightly artificial? The blend looks lovely, and it’s totally drinkable, but not my favourite. It starts to have a really thin flavour profile after a while and I sometimes forget which tea I’ve steeped.

really, really love this tea!!! it’s so beautiful. i’d never tried a black tea with rice before (i’ve had a few green teas with rice) but this was just beautiful. it looks lovely when steeped. it’s very sweet and very aromatic (filled with berries!) and a pleasure to drink. i’m sad i only bought 50 grams. <3

Adding this note to remind myself that I don’t really like this tea! I find it very floral and it smells lovely, but it has no body and isn’t very interesting.

One of my favourite breakfast teas of all time. It just doesn’t compare! So malty, warm, full of tannins but never bitter, even if I over steep it. So, so beloved. The leaves even have this beautiful brown/green moment when steeped. I enjoy it so much.

My sister-in-law gave me this for Christmas, and it was really lovely. Light, refreshing, but also soothing. Minty, lemony, easy, it’s a really nice nighttime tea.

I like this one, but I don’t know when to drink it. I love black and green tea together usually, but this is sort of … mossy and smoky and black tea. It’s a finely made tea, but I’m not sure if it’s for me, or if I would buy it again.
