336 Tasting Notes
I’m having this with a chunk of a dark chocolate filled with coffee flavored chocolate mousse from La Maison du Chocolat. It is over the top intense, rich and dark and creamy. It melts upon touch.
It’s kind of odd to drink tea with coffee flavored chocolate but it works very well. The extreme richness of the chocolate is balanced nicely with the slightly peppery taste of Yunnan. The tea is dark, with cocoa and pepper notes. It’s perhaps not as complex as some other Yunnan teas but still very enjoyable and a very good value too.
Preparation
Why did I buy this tea? Not really sure. For some reason it sounded like a fun blend and I do not regret buying it. It does smell like blueberries and word “purple” seems very appropriate. If colors would have taste assigned to them then this is how purple would smell/taste. It’s light and slightly tart without harshness that sometimes lemony/citrus/berries blends have. Overall very pleasant.
Preparation
Thank you for the sample.
It does indeed smell like a watermelon.
I have to admit that I’m not a watermelon fan (in terms of taste). What? Shocking I know … Furthermore, I associate watermelon flavor with cheep bubblegum. Having said that, this was really nice. It was light, sparkly and very delightful. It would probably make a nice iced version.
Preparation
I bought this because I recall that I liked grape sencha from Den’s tea.
The smell is intense but I LOVE the smell of concord grapes. In fact I could just smell this tea and then daydream a bit and then smell it again.
The taste is light and less grape-y than I expected but I like it that way. It’s a nice and refreshing blend.
Preparation
This is my first order from Butiki Teas. I’m always in a search for a perfect rose tea. This smells like a delicate mixture of rose and violet with a hint of jasmine.
It’s light and floral and tastes like Marzipan which is good thing as far as I’m concerned.
Preparation
From all the new Zodiac Series Cancer and Capricorn are probably my favorite so far. With Capricorn I try to be careful not to overbrew it, then it has just the right amount of creamy goodness.
Some neat write up for Apothecary Green by Verdant Tea. I love old botanical prints; so cool.

Preparation
Finally I got to taste the blend for my own sign. It’s a nice, a little bit smokey oolong with smooth peach flavor. Not bad!
Ordered some new stuff from Butiki Teas; I have never tried anything from them.
Tomorrow Verdant tea will be featured on http://moodsandappetites.com/
