183 Tasting Notes
I had a craving for this last week and realized I was out! So I bought a tin a few days ago and have been drinking it every night since.
I love the smell of the dry mix – I find myself opening the tin just to smell it. The flavours blend really well. The spices add a nice kick that keep it from fading into obscurity the way some lemon teas do.
Preparation
I can’t believe it’s been months since I drank this. It’s a perfect summer tea! Hot. it’s good, and cold, it’s refreshing and doesn’t have the tartness associated with so many fruit flavoured teas.
I love cantaloupe = I love this tea.
Preparation
Very Nice. I typically go for oolongs with a rich, nutty taste, but this citrusy blend works well. It’s nice and smooth, with no astringency. The flavours balance each other out well, without any of them being overpowering.
Preparation
I thought I might have a sipdown, but no. I’ve gotten quite a few cups out of my trial pkg of this tea, and it looks like I’ll get one or two more. Very good value.
You can’t oversteep this, which is great because I forgot it in my steeper for over an hour. The spices balance out the rooibos perfectly, and there’s no woody taste at all.
Still enjoying the cantaloupe spice taste, and still don’t detect any pumpkin. I ordered a larger size yesterday, so I should have enough to last me through the fall. Yay.
Preparation
I thought I had a note on this one already, but I guess not. I’m in the definite minority here, in that I’m not a fan of this blend.
The hibiscus in the ingredients scared me, but I bought a bit anyway because it smelled sooo good. I’ve tried it hot and iced, and it’s way too tart for me. Not as hibiscusy as some, but still very tart. I’ll have to find someone to take the last bit off my hands or it’ll sit in my cupboard forever.
Preparation
I should have checked to see what I’d steeped this at before, as I really liked it last time. Today I brewed it at 80C for 2.5 min. It was a bit astringent and lost the mango taste I remembered. I checked, and the water was at 70C last time and was perfect. I should make notes on my packages.
Not a sipdown, but pretty close.
Preparation
And another sipdown. Again, really just clearing space in my tea cupboard for the new (larger) bag to arrive.
I’ve been steeping this at a slightly higher temp than I did originally, and the flavours are richer tasting. And it smells so good!
Preparation
Joining the sipdown club finally! I finished off the last of this last night. Of course, I ordered some more right after as part of my Tealux order, but still.
I’ve developed a fondness for this blend over the last few months. I pull it out at night after a heavy meal, or when I’m not in the mood for one of my other staples. Not noticing the floral note I complained of in my first note as much.
Leaving my rating as is, because although I’m drinking it fairly regularly, it’s still not a knock-your-socks-off kind of tea.
