Sipdown…it’s decently tasty, but I don’t know if I would get this again. It’s not too bitter or strong of a base, and there is some nice maple, but not enough, though adding maple syrup overdoes it.

Nice medium bodied oolong. The leaves are dark green and crumpled and open up nicely with the first steep and allow for a second steep. The roast level is warm and nutty, though not as roasted as David’s Oolong Supreme, Butiki’s Gui Fei, or an oreiental beauty or big red robe. This is a little lower than those, but still more roast than some of the greener oolongs I’ve had. I don’t find this one to be terribly floral. It’s a nice simple oolong, and I think a good starter one for someone. I found that it did not go bitter or astringent with the 3 or so minute steep and less than boiling water.

Backlog…I really like this tea…and it’s a rooibos! I did not try it with milk, but I will next time. I’m so happy I have a few rooibos that I like well enough to repurchase.

OMGsrsly

It is SO GOOD with milk. :)

Plunkybug

K. Will def do that next time. I’m trying the Pumpkin now, and will likely add milk to it.

Not sure what to think of this tea. There is no actual rhubarb or rhubarb flavour in this tea, though there is the tartness of the blackberry and lime leaves, combined with the jasmine petals, that does give it a bit of a rhubarb feel. I’m not sure how I feel about it all. I am drinking it with a little organic cane sugar, but may go add milk to see how or if it changes the flavour. I think that this is probably a tea that would be good cold steeped, or iced over the summer. I think that I will be ok to drink the rest of the sample, but I’ll reserve judgement on whether I want more after I’ve had more.

Thought I would like this one more, but it is just ok for me. I wish I could articulate what it is that is not making it wow for me. I only have a small sample, so I am sure I will finish it, but I don’t think I would get this one again. Unless a later steeping changes my opinion of this tea.

Got this yesterday, with a few other samples. It was raining and grey out this morning, so I thought it was a good tea to have. It smells warm and maple-y. I opted to make it a latte with maple syrup, but I used too much maple syrup, so it tasted off. Next time I will just use brown cane sugar and milk and see how it is. I think I went overboard on the maple this time.

This is a rooibos tea I got as a sample. I am not a fan of rooibos, but I was told that Janet’s rooibos blands were much better than David’s blends, and I only like a few of David’s rooibos (and I have to be in the mood to have). This one is supposed to be amaretto, strawberry, and raspberry, and I knew this was the one I wanted to try first.

It smells a bit of the amaretto in the bag, with a little strawberry. Taste-wise, it is still a rooibos taste for me, but I think I could get used to this one more regularly. It was not the worst rooibos I have had. It was a pretty good one, actually. For a rooibos.

Thanks to Shayne (I forget his new name…Java’s Dad maybe?) for letting me try it.

drank Caramel Apple by Butiki Teas

I must be the only person who can’t taste any apple or caramel in this tea. I tried using a smaller amount, and while it was tasty, I got predominantly gui fei oolong and not much else.

I do smell it, but I just can’t taste it for some reason. Sad.

Such a good tea! Definitely get the plummy juiciness, and a little of that brandy note in the background. I’m not tasting the cheesecake, per se, but I am feeling it, with a thickness on my tongue. It’s really a nice combination of taste and feeling.

I do have to say that the brandy component was most present when this was hot, and it diminished a bit as it cooled, making way for the creaminess. Also, I don’t really get much of the flavors with my second steep, but I still get a nice tea because the base alone is quite tasty.

It’s still a winner. Much better than the previous plum tea, to me.

Had this one yesterday! It was really good! I admit I was a little worried that the espresso and chocolate would overpower the strawberry, but they didn’t! Yay! Not that I had much doubt…it’s Stacy we’re talking about :P

This is definitely one of those teas I would go to regularly, especially in the colder months.

I generally like a lot of tea. I do find I have a preference for flavored over unflavoured, but I do love a good straight tea as well.

Likes are too hard, since there are a lot. Dislikes are easier, so here they are…

Hibiscus. Blech. I can tolerate a little, depending on the brew, like Berry Good from Davids and Ruby Pie from Butiki…but in general, it’s too tart and too strong for me.

Licorice. Anything that remotely resembles licorice is out too, so that includes fennel and anise. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Florals. I’m cool with petals in the tea to make them look pretty (except rose), and I’m cool with teas like oolongs having a floral note, but strong florals can give me migraines. Rose and jasmine are the biggest offenders. This is one where it can vary on the blend, as I can handle Teavivre’s Peach Jasmine Dragon Pearl tea because there is very little jasmine actually detectable in it.

Rooibos is hit or miss. I can do some, but not others. I handle green better than red, and honeybush better than rooibos.

My ratings don’t have a particular scale or method, and may on occasion contradict themselves, but I’m honestly not fussed about that. Sometimes I don’t even rate at all.

Um, I have an extensive wishlist. It is both a list of things I want to get again, and things I want to try. If you are sending me something, and you want to know which is which, I’ll tell you via PM.

Yes, I do trades…usually on request though. See something you want to try in my cupboard? Just shoot me a message and I’ll see what I can do!

Uh, guess that’s it.
