I really need to try more and more teas by this Teamaker. I’ve had quite a few awful earl greys lately, but this one was lovely! The ceylong base was full-bodied, fruity, and smooth. The bergamot wasn’t oily or bitter. A really lovely earl grey!
" A really lovely earl grey!" Agreed!
One note: Lord Bergamot is different in that it’s a blend of two Ceylon teas as well as an Assam tea. http://steepster.com/looseTman/posts/187306
The addition of Assam to Lord Bergamot is makes this tea different from the traditional Earl Grey teas that have a 100% Ceylon base.
Question: When is an Earl Grey, not an Earl Grey?
Answer: When it’s a Lord Bergamot!

Since I had Butiki’s With Open Eyes this afternoon, I decided to have this tea to compare since they both have strawberry and ginger. With Open Eyes is like a butterscotch covered strawberry, while this tea is like those strawberry hard candies that everyone’s grandmother seems to have in their candy dish. I liked both, but in different ways. I would have with Open Eyes when I’m looking for something more sophisticated and layered. I would. Have Fusion’s version if I was in the mood for something sugary-sweet. I really appreciate that both have an amazing fresh strawberry taste. Good stuff!
