I was gifted a single teabag of this blend. Very glad it was given to me, as I never would have purchased it on my own- I’ve been burned by honey/chamomile blends too many times before. They always have stevia (blechhhh) or licorice root so strong it dominates the entire cup. Luckily, this one has neither and made for a really lovely evening blend. The chamomile is most dominant, with a bit of honey and vanilla balancing the chamomile out nicely.

Actually quite a nice bedtime blend and one I would purchase in the future.

vallhallow

I like this one a lot with a little extra honey for an unexpected sore throat remedy.

teaqueen

This one is dreamy and perfect for the pre-bedtime ritual!

This tastes like orange and mild spices, maybe clove. It’s decent with milk. The orange and black tea go together really well. There are plenty of other teas like this, but this one is decent. I think this one is from tea-and-cats, so thank you!

This really is an all right green tea. I didn’t expect anything of it, but it’s mild and pleasant and a little fruity. It’s certainly not matcha, but I had a good time drinking it cold. I also didn’t detect lime specifically, more like general fruitiness. I had this cup over the course of three days, and I really am enjoying it.

drank French Vanilla Chai by Twinings

Thanks to tea-and-cats for these tea bags! This smells so good. I don’t end up tasting much vanilla, though I suppose there may be some. I do taste a lot of warming chai spices. It’s decently well-balanced and tasty. Actually, it reminds me of cookies, and the person I shared it with said it reminded them of graham crackers. So this one was popular, but didn’t really taste like it was supposed to exactly.

Unremarkable. I don’t really taste much of anything.

drank Earl Grey by Twinings

This is a comfortable, reliable, familiar Earl Grey. It’s like an old sweater that may no longer be the height of fashion but still keeps you warm and snuggly. It’s the Earl Grey with which I’m most familiar, and I find myself returning to it time and again. It’s readily available and affordable so I tend to default to it, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that I do like it and enjoy drinking it.

Very bland and lackluster tea, even for a big company bagged black. There’s absolutely nothing that would stand out in it.

drank Decaffeinated Chai by Twinings

Head fuzzies this morning. Hoping it’s not the onset of a migraine, although it feels that way. Advil and tea is how I choose to stave this off, whatever it is (the result of too much craft beer and Spanish wine this weekend, probably).

As far as bagged options go, Twinings is hard to argue with. This chai is well-balanced, tastes exactly how you’d want and expect it to, is low-maintenance, and takes milk and honey well. Twinings’s decaf black tea base is also done very well with this blend; it doesn’t have that horrible flat chemical aftertaste that so many other grocery store decaf options do. I’m sure it’s the wonderful, warming spices that are helping hide it, but whatever gets the job done is fine.

Flavors: Cardamom, Cinnamon, Cloves, Ginger, Nutmeg, Spices

Shae

I hope the tea and Advil get the job done. Feel better!

gmathis

I haven’t tried the decaf version, but you can almost always find the regular version in somebody’s stash at work. It’s absolutely acceptable!

teaqueen

Thanks… I decided to just take a half day off work and go back to bed. I woke up feeling much better today. Although I may make more of this decaf chai anyway (it really hit the spot yesterday!).

I’m always surprised by how much I enjoy this one. It’s a little mild, but it’s a nice combination. Pleasant black tea, good with milk. I wouldn’t buy it, but I’d always say yes to a bag.

This one has been hanging out in my cabinet for some time. I’m not sure where it came from. Maybe a tea gnome snuck it into the house. I’ve had this many times before as its a staple found in many restaurants but I’ve never sipped it with thoughtful intention.

I prefer it over the English Breakfast Tea. It is smooth and malty. Would drink it again, if it was offered. Probably wouldn’t purchase because I have become more intrigued in the huge variety of teas out there!

Fun to read over the reviews from the last 12 years. Noted that no one has reviewed it in the last 5+ years!

I should help you remedy that. Love this one, drink it reasonably frequently, just don’t mention it much!

This is more delicate than I thought it would be, it reminds me of a tea I use to drink years ago but can’t recall the name.
Can’t wait to try this one iced with sugar

drank Peppermint Cheer by Twinings
2578 tasting notes

Thanks for the sample, tea-and-cats! I’ve been drinking a lot of mint teas lately, and I’ll be honest, not much sets them apart from each other. I taste peppermint and a little creaminess. It’s pleasant, but not super special. I’m enjoying it cold, and I’d drink it again, but there’s no reason to choose it over any other similar blends. It’s similar to the buttermint flavor.

Mastress Alita

I love that Buttermint tea!

gmathis

Is the Buttermint a Twinings variety, too? (I love the Peppermint Cheer!)

AJRimmer

Yep, it’s Twinings too! There seems to be some buttermint in every TTB I take part in, and I always grab a few for the road.

One of my favorites before bed. Not as robust as the regular Earl Grey, so i tend to steep it a little longer and hotter.

Flavors: Bergamot

Preparation
Boiling 4 min, 45 sec 1 tsp 10 OZ / 295 ML
Shae

I didn’t like this one too much for the same reason, so I started steeping with two teabags in 6 ounces of water and it’s perfect.

Shae

Sorry, that’s meant to be 8, not 6 ounces.

A friend gifted this to me because it’s one of her favorites. I don’t care for it. It just has too much lemon and not enough tea taste. Perhaps I would feel different if it was loose leaf. The tea bag was typical dusty bits of leaf.

Drank 1/14/22
A Christmas gift from my friend Caleb! I have several boxes of the Twinings Chai in the pantry, but I had never tried the decaf version before. I’m not a huge fan of decaf in general as it tastes flat and empty… like someone added notebook paper to the cup. This one, however, isn’t that bad! The spices overpowered that decaf taste and made a nice cup of tea. I would probably not buy it myself, but I would drink it again if it came my way.
I don’t think it would work well with milk as it was rather weak.

drank Winter Spice by Twinings

Thanks to tea-and-cats for this tea! The chamomile base is really pleasant, and the spices are light, but really nice. I’m enjoying a cup of this warm. It’s a little fruity. I taste a nice chamomile, a little apple, and a mild warm spice. I’d consider getting a box of this for work!

gmathis

Even though it’s mild, I have really been enjoying this of an evening.

Lexie Aleah

I liked this one a lot too!

This is one of those teas that’s been in the back of my pantry forever. Finished off the last of the teabags (I hope!) This is a nice flavored black tea either hot or iced (I chose iced today). It’s not potent, but just a good basic tea. I think I have a newer version of this tea in my stash as well as a tin of loose leaf somewhere else hiding. It just multiplies when I’m not looking.

I had my note half-composed for this Twinings holiday variety, but paused to read the (currently) only other review from AJRimmer and then broke out laughing because my planned comments were nearly word for word! Great minds and all that. Therefore, claiming the “fair use” copyright law technicality and with my thanks to the original author:

It really tastes like gingerbread! Perfect light ginger flavor with other spices and something genuinely like baked goods. I’d drink this one again for sure! I had it with milk, and it’s one of the best takes on gingerbread I’ve seen in a while.

Precisely.

AJRimmer

Ha perfect! I recently acquired a few extra bags of this and am very excited to have some more!

gmathis

I’m enjoying the little Twinings assortment that was gifted to me.

drank Christmas Tea by Twinings
3009 tasting notes

I’m feeling cuddly as a cactus and as charming as an eel. Just call me Mrs. Grinch when you walk into the office today. So in hopes of inflating my heart two or three sizes, we’ve got Pentatonix singing their lungs out in my direction, and I steeped a cup of Christmas tea in my favorite wintery mug—it has embossed holly leaves and berries. The bumps feel good in your hands.

The orange and clove profile, as many people have mentioned before, is a lot like good ol’ Bigelow Constant Comment, only not quite as finicky—steep time of 4 minutes, and it’s still not bitter or biting. (Maybe I should take the hint, eh?) A little milk and honey would flip this into a nice orangey chai, I think.

May the gloomies dispel and the inner sunshine break forth quickly!
