English Breakfast Decaf

Hot with milk. Very tired from work. Can’t wait to find a real career. Just one more day of work then I can simultaneously collapse and research. Life is hard.

Backlogging…

Of the grocery store teabag teas, this is my “favorite”. I always drink it with milk. Its perfect for late at night when you want something milky-tea-flavored to drink/warm you up with out having to think about brewing it.
I owe this mug of tea to the guy outside who decided to hack through the snow/ice-bank surrounding his car at 2am.

This has almost no flavor. I used three bags in a standard 12-oz mug and it was barely tea. It’s not actively bad like Lipton or Red Rose decaf, but if you’re looking for a decaffeinated tea in a grocery store go with Tetley’s British Blend decaf which is much more satisfying.

Somewhat disappointing, as I kind of like bagged Twinings Prince of Wales tea.

For some reason, this tasted kind of chemically for me. Admittedly it’s not the newest of tea bags, so it may have been just past its prime. Perhaps I’d feel differently with a newer batch. Oh well.

This is to go with my brunch (late breakfast, early lunch) of an egg on toast. I am used to having the original Twinings English breakfast tea instead of the decaf version but someone sent me one bag of this to try.

First thing I notice is that the taste is not nearly as strong as the original tea and personally I like black tea’s for their strength. Another thing that crosses my mind is that this teabag was sent from New York and I wonder if the English versions are stronger than the American?

Overall it has a decent taste but next time I will stick to my original.

This I’s a teabag. The teabag smells like black tea. I steeped this for a short time. And the color turned out to be a medium brown. This tea like a black tea that is not overwelmingly strong but not weak either. I think this is very pleasant.

looks like tea, tastes upon first glug like tea but has an aftertaste like someone forgot to swill the washing up suds out of the mug.

If there is any Ceylon in this blend then someone destroyed it during the decaf process because there seems to be no Ceylon character at all. It’s fairly weak even after a four-minute steep. A dash of milk rescues what otherwise would be a very disappointing brew.

Not as strong as I’d like, but an ok choice for a black decaf.
