As others have said, this tea is a bit “meh” compared to loose-leaf varieties. Yet for a bagged tea, it’s surprisingly good. It’s also the only bagged Pearled Jasmine I’ve ever found, and is convenient to buy during weekly shopping trips, at a very good price. A nice fall-back for those times when the loose-leaf pearled jasmine has run out.
I had a cup of this last night at book group. It tastes pretty good, but the pomegranate is pretty strong and overwhelms the white. If you’d asked me to identify what kind of tea it was, I’d have said herbal. I would not have guessed white. Even so, I liked it ok. I wouldn’t go buy it but also wouldn’t turn it down if someone offered me a cup. I had this unsweetened.
Preparation
I know what you mean. Before we got TJ’s here we’d take empty suitcases every time we went to Boston just to fill with stuff from Trader Joe’s. Even at their worst they’re still better than any other store.
They have some really great unique stuff. I loved their multi-grain chips. They’ll never come to TX though- the tax on selling their alcohol is too high, they say, so the prices they’d have to charge wouldn’t fit their business model. Sigh.
This is a solid everyday peppermint tea. I drink this when it’s late and I want a hot comforting drink without caffeine. It has a minty, refreshing taste and flavor which soothes the spirit. This particular brand of tea has a great smell and flavor and brews a great strong pot of tea. I actually like it much better than the Celestial Seasons version of mint tea because this tastes less medicinal.
Preparation
Definately not the best vanilla tea out there but I think this one of the best bagged teas. We keep this one around because it’s convenient; perfect brewed double strength with equal parts water and Trader Joe’s vanilla hemp milk. They’re probably literally made for one another.
Preparation
I bought a box of this obviously because it was very well priced. I am a coffee drinker so the fact that is strong a little bitter doesn’t bother so much. It is my first experience with an Irish breakfast tea. It’s not fabulous but not terrible either. It’s one that I would keep on hand for variety.
I had to try this a multitude of times before commenting. I really like this tea. I’ve been on a tea journey now for maybe 7 years, but I’m still in the bagged zone. I have to say that this tea has a lot of mint zip to it. I like that a LOT. It is great for an afternoon pick-me-up. I like my tea with sweetness, so I add some stevia to this, but that is all this tea needs (for me). Soy or almond milk would just sully the brightness of it. The cinnamon/vanilla is there, but so subtle. Really a pleasure to drink :o)
Never thought that I would enjoy a decaf tea, but somehow this worked!
I saw this recommended in one of the food blogs that I regularly read, so when I saw it at Trader Joe’s, I picked up a box. The peppermint aroma is enjoyable as soon as you open the box, and remains even after a double steeping.
I will probably hoard a few boxes of this so that I can enjoy it long after the holiday season.
Oh man, I really LOVE this tea! Obviously I found it at TJs & I didn’t realize until I brewed a pot that it is very similar to Celestial Seasoning’s Nutcracker Sweet, which I adore (at a TJs price – which I adore even more!) I bought a bunch of boxes for Christmas presents. I just recently found the TJs Candy Cane Green Tea on this site & will start my local TJ search! Thankful for Steepster.com :o)
Definitely tasty but light. Both the jasmine and the green tea are a bit on the meh side in terms of flavor; neither stands out particularly. The proportions are right and the tea is enjoyable, but it’s just a bit superficial in terms of flavor. Definitely a good, enjoyable day-to-day jasmine green, if that’s your thing, and the price is great.
Side note: I find that there’s often something disagreeable about jasmine tea at this price, but think that this tea entirely enjoyable. Props to TJs.
I think I score this tea it as highly as I do because I find it so unexpectedly drinkable. Normally, I dislike Irish Breakfast blends. I often find them too aggressive and too bitter. This is uncommonly smooth and surprisingly pleasant.
