Tea of the evening…..
Actually, I am not sure it is this one or Candy Cane Lane from Celestial. They are pretty much interchangeable, and match up exactly ingredient wise. This was the tea that started the tea obsession in my adult life. When they were out of it for the season at Trader Joe’s, I researched by ingredient list which lead me to Candy Cane Lane. (I am guessing that Celestial repackages for Trader Joe’s.) It is funny that they were sampling this out at TJ’s today, and made me decide to drink this one for this evening.
Lightly mint, with a touch of vanilla or something close….. still probably my favorite green, but I am learning to branch out.
4 bags in a 24 oz pot. 185 water for 3 minutes.
Preparation
My tea of the evening. I am feeling a little under the weather….allergies and general yuck. The mint in this one is great for settling my tummy. I also find this tea identical to Celestial Seasoning’s Cany Cane Lane. For a bagged tea, this is pretty good.
24 oz teapot, 3 bags, freshly heated water (I have a new electric kettle…bliss!), 4 minutes. Lightly sweetened.
Preparation
Reminds me of the Irish saying “tea so strong you could trot a mouse on it.” Watch the steeping time as it can get bitter quickly. I found it a bit too strong, strong for even Irish Breakfast, but my Irish born father liked it a lot. Not bad.
Preparation
I generally like a stronger tea for breakfast and English breakfast sometimes seems weak to me. Some Irish breakfasts, like Stash, have a bit of a note that I like. This Irish breakfast is strong like others but without that top note. Like someone else said it is good for my morning buzz and a step above grocery store teas. I left the bag in the pot and the tea did not change over time.
Preparation
I got to go to Trader Joe’s for the first time on Saturday and I picked up a bottle of this iced tea. It is really delicious. It has a nice blueberry flavor upfront with a grassy green tea finish. I really like home much you can taste the blueberry in this tea, but it isn’t sour at all. I am pretty sure that is due to the lack of hibiscus in this tea which I am grateful for. Quite a yummy bottled iced tea!
I like Earl Grey, I like Lady Grey, so why wouldn’t I like the Duchess?
Yes, indeed, I do like Duchess Grey very much! More lemony than Twinings Lady Grey, but I like that for a bit of a change.
It says that I’ve only drank this tea twice, which must be a lie since I only have one bag left! I love this tea. It’s the perfect combination of sweet fruit and malty black tea. And given the price point, I think it’s pretty comparable to Republic of Tea’s Mango Ceylon, which in my opinion is downright amazing. Maybe I just really like mango…
