Proof that whole leaf tea is better that tea from fannings. This is a bright, mellow, but superbly tasting tea that exemplifies why darjeeling is called “the champagne of teas.” Great aroma too. Novus is Bigelow’s restaurant tea but can be bought online.

Reminds me of the Irish saying “tea so strong you could trot a mouse on it.” Watch the steeping time as it can get bitter quickly. I found it a bit too strong, strong for even Irish Breakfast, but my Irish born father liked it a lot. Not bad.

Opening the box (wonderful packaging as usual Harneys) releases this wonderful fruity aroma of cherries that is puzzlingly missing in the taste of the tea itself. It’s a decent green tea, light and ever so slightly vegetal, but I would have liked to taste cherry as well as smell it.

I’ve made this tea hot and cold and find it tart and delicious. It’s a good warm you up kind of tea on a cold winter night and would go over well for fans of rooibus. Cold brewed, it’s so very appropriate for summer – refreshing and cooling and quite delicious.

I treated myself to this somewhat expensive tea and was disappointed. I wish I could say I loved it, but it tasted, to me, of brothy sea water. I got none of the tasting notes described by Rishi and it definitely was not sweet nor had any aroma. I tried making iced tea with it, but still didn’t like it at all. I’ll stay with Rishi’s Ancient Emerald Lily instead.

This is also becoming one of my favorite black teas. It has a wonderful, barely smoky aroma, and steeps to a honey colored brew. There are some vague peppery notes, but it tastes slightly malty, slightly carmel like, bright and mellow, with no bitter notes at all.

Just a great, wonderful black tea. Should stand up well to milk & sugar (and honey). Not sure how much cups you can get from this 3.2 oz container, but it seemed to last forever.

One of my favorite teas. I can’t drink matcha without any sweetener yet so the sweet matcha is my tea of choice right now. I don’t drink coffee and I find that matcha gives me the energy without the jitteriness you can get from coffee. Plus, I just feel better when I have it.

My recipe is 2 cups soy milk (other milks, dairy and non, overpower the taste of matcha) to 2 tablespoons of Sweet Matcha, mixed with a frother or a chasen, microwaved for 4 mins, 15 secs, another whisking and I’m ready to go.

It has a slight grassy and creamy smell which also shows up in the taste. It’s a nice bright cup. I’ve had people who don’t like tea or soy milk try it and like it.

I work with woman from China who loves Pu-ehr and this is her daily cup of tea.

I can see why someone might compare this tea to a damp basement, but, to me, I got more of a clean damp dirt smell – earthy and reminiscent of mushrooms and fresh forest soil. The brew itself is very DARK, like over brewed tea.

Have to say, not my favorite tea. My tastes run more towards the malty and bright teas. Didn’t hate it, but didn’t love it, but would give it a try again sometime. Might be an acquired taste.
