A beautiful tea full of bright orange shavings and plump cranberries. If I chose my teas based on dry leaf smell….this one smells of perfume to me, I would not purchase this tea. Once brewed, the perfuminess goes away and you are left with a juicy tea. This is really delicious hot, but it really shines as an iced tea. The flavors are bright and crisp. I highly recommend this tea:)
Preparation
I bought a tin of this at Ross (for about $2), and the results surprised and impressed me. The flavour mix (cloves, cinnamon, most of all some delicious orange rind) was spot on. Perfect for a cold winter’s day. My only complaint is that it will leave sediment in your cup (a lot of sediment, if you brew it for a long time).
Preparation
I had a really good christmas and got lots of new tea from people who see my obsession as an easy opportunity to buy me presents (I’m not complaining). But several of them remain unopened while I drink my way through this one. It’s easy (in a bag) and yet tastes very nice. It’s got the balance of fruit and tea quite well – it’s quite sweet but not so sweet that I screw up my face like I do with some so-called teas
This tea isn’t great and it isn’t horrible, just right in the middle. It is a robust black tea that reminds me more of an assam strength than a typical ceylon. This tea is a bit of a blank canvas as in it is great because you can change the flavor dramatically by adding additions. Overall, it reminds me of PG Tips a bit although PG Tips are better in my opinion.
A nice cup if you just want something, but nothing to write home about.
6tsp for 750mL, Breville, green tea setting, medium strength (3-minute steep) with basket feature on.
Yes, that’s a lot of leaf for 750mL of tea, but the older I get, the stronger I like my tea — except for some of the oolongs; those I’ll follow directions for. Also, this Dragonwell is fluffy for a green. The leaves are long, flat and lovely.
I’m not Dragonwell expert, but the Dragonwell from Boston Tea Party is delicious. I gotta ask myself why I don’t make this more often. My flashier teas tend to push Dragonwell to the back of the line. But when there’s work to be done and green tea to be drunk, a good Dragonwell or a good Sencha can make my day.
Notes from an earlier comment. These hold true even with the stronger liquor this time: “Body is light but creamy. Taste is sweet and very refreshing. No mineral or brine notes. Faint fruitness rounds out the aftertaste. Maybe some distant smoke — hard to say. Slight nuttiness.” The only difference now is a pleasant mineral note in the finish — very clean. Lots of buance and subtlety in this unassuming straight green.
Rating: 95.
2 TB for a 600mL pot
Received a lovely tin of this Dragonwell as a gift last night. The large leaved spied through the peek-a-boo lid are long, a bit twiggy, dark dark jade … and look good enough to eat. Ever the cynic, I dumped some tea out of the tin to see if most of the volume was fannings of broken leaves over which full leaves had been laid … but nope. All leaf, all the way.
First infusion: steeped for just under two minutes. Liquor is pale green with yellow tones. Scent is sweet and light. Body is light but creamy. Taste is sweet and very refreshing. No mineral or brine notes. Faint fruitness rounds out the aftertaste. Maybe some distant smoke — hard to say. Slight nuttiness.
A competitor’s Dragonwell promised improved concentration, which did happen. I’ll report later on this one.
Refreshing. I keep coming back to that, but yeah, refreshing to the point of being invigorating. Not at all a caffeine smack-up-the-head like, say, Damn Fine’s Captain Assam, but definitely a sweet buzz. Invites meditation.

Thanks LiberTEAs for this!!!
I think this is a nice Earl Grey…I can taste the difference between the stereotypical Bergamot and this lovely Citrus! I like this with the citrus they used! I would say this was a nice BURST of flavor and quite juicy.
This is nice both hot and iced! YUM!
Thank you LiberTEAS for an awesome sample of this! This is a real mild Earl Grey. It was perfect I think, nothing overpowering. It is just right! I really appreciate it. I am picky when a tea is flavored. It can be a small window of what’s too little or too much. Really nice black tea in it too.
I absolutely love it iced! Really enjoyable.
Preparation
hello added flavors. organic is no excuse for too much. I don’t like when the actual plant material, be it tea leaf or herb, is completely masked by added flavors, and this one is a classic example of it. I taste the flavors of honey, lemon and chamomile, not the actual honey, chamomile or lemon. Does that make sense?
Preparation
First…let me thank LiberTEAs for this one…THANKS Sista!
2nd…I thought this was going to be too tart for my liking but it’s really not that bad! The spice brings the tartiness down a notch and the tart brings the spice down a tad…nice contrast. The apple is what I can taste the most of next to the rooibos, that is. the lemon grass is a nice sidekick to both. Not too shabby!
One of the very few green teas I like. It tastes like stereotypical Chinese restaurant Jasmine tea, but with good quality tea and a nice floral note to it without being too strong or bitter. It doesn’t taste “Healthy” and bitter and just… icky like most green teas do these days, but honestly good. Natural sweetness occurs in it, bitter only if rebrewed. I was pleasantly surprised after going to HomeGoods and getting it for around $3. Leaves are nice and fresh, nice full leaves as well. Not quite tips, but really good.

Backlog:
With my taste buds being off (I don’t know if this is a cold or the flu, all I know is that I am not 100%), I have decided to sip on teas that I have previously tasted. This is one that I grabbed, I love the ginger in this, and I found this one to be particularly comforting over the past two days.
Delicious!
I just got finished writing a full-length review for this one that will be published soon on the Tea Review Blog. I really like the addition of the apricot to the classic flavor combination of ginger and peach. It adds a very pleasing depth of flavor to the fruit.
Nicely balanced. Lovely, comforting, delicious!
