I usually dislike both black teas and blueberry teas, but somehow this one became my favorite tea of all time.

I recommend trying this flavor for avid black tea drinkers. I don’t recognize any other than black tea, but this tea surprised me a lot)))
Very tasty.

August Sipdown Prompt – Lazy Day: make an easy peasy tea
Well, technically not a sipdown for me, as I had only a single tea bag in long forgotten envelope.

But anyway, easy peasy tea. I was just taking care about water temperature, but not at all about steeping time and preparing was simple as well, as using tea bags are.

Sadly, I am again disappointed with Greenfield tea. This time it was grassy green, but no quince — rather just some generic fruit line and definitely I didn’t notice any ginger in.

At least the outer wrapper is nice.

I have received again a bunch of postcards thanks to postcrossing; and one envelope with tea bag in. It came from Russia, surprisingly not opened by customs and this tea bag was in.
When I have opened the outer wrapping (which I am not sure if I have in my collection), I was astnoished how real the aroma was. Or, at least it was distinctly blueberry — reminding me a bit Blueberry Jam by DAVIDsTEA. So, I put the bag in my glass mug, steeped for 4 minutes and…

Blueberries were gone. Not totally, there were still hints of them, some fruitiness (probably as mentioned before, it’s hibiscus) and pretty much plain and boring black tea base, distinctly Ceylon.

Sadly, it’s just below average for me, though I generally like Greenfield blends.

Yesterday afternoon tea. Maté with lime flavour sounds indeed very interesting!

And smells great! Lime aroma was quite genuine with some bitter and herbal undertone.

In taste it was quite bitter, but for me who isn’t much experienced with Maté… it was surprising. But not in a bad way. Lime juiciness and other citrus notes were complementing the flavour of maté well and it was nice experience. Nothing to have necessary in my cupboard as a must have tea, but keeping a few bags, why not?

And as we have a new month here again, stats time for May!

I have drank 41 loose leaf teas, the rest was bagged.

I wrote only 20 tasting notes here in May! And sipped down 4 teas.
Those numbers are interesting as I used to write here much more — but apparently I was
more purposive than usual I am. As of sipdowns, I blame that I wasn’t caring too much about the teas I have there and rather trying the new ones too.

They have it in a black tea collection, but name reminds a bit more a white tea.

Anyway, brewed it in the morning and it was wonderful experience.

It was smooth and delicate tea indeed with rather white tea notes. It was mellow but robust taste with some chocolate notes and baked bread like.

Overall I am quite impressed, but not sure if they still sell it. The company I have ordered it from doesn’t have boxes of this tea available.

Side note: I was playing 3 games as part of my application for a job and well, the results sound great. I wonder how they were able to find out my softskills, but that’s magic.

Another “fresh” tea from my recent order of tea bags. I was picking some teas for my brother as well for my grandma (she asked for one particular tea set), so I have picked a few tea bags of teas I wanted to try only, if it is worth ordering more.

Anyway to the tea, with kind of interesting name.

It is robust and bold black tea, but not bitter at all. A little of astringency needed in black teas, and honestly… their description is indeed accurate. It’s balanced and full flavour, smooth with hints of honey and spices.. This is a cup I would order in a larger quantity without any problems. A decent bagged black tea.

Uhhm, I am so busy nowadays. And no mood to drink new teas. I know, this is not really new.

But I have prepared it this afternoon as I needed something with caffeine badly and I was craving something fruity. This sounded exactly that.

Tomorrow a bank holiday. Finally a day to unwind a bit. It is really tiring those first weeks in the work. But I do like it and I was able to work quite independly today.

Back to the tea…
it was indeed decent; the green tea base was mellow and although quite flat, it was a bit citrusy. at least that what I was noticing — along with floral notes (probably rose) and the peach had real taste, nicely fruity and ripe, although naturally nonwhere to real fruit.

Decent tea bag in conclusion. Honestly Greenfield have better black teas, but this one was decent.

I bought a several tea bags from, kind of favourite, tea shop, a Basilur teas distributor. They sell even a individual packed tea bags and as I bought some other teas, I have received a load of other tea bags as well. Brands like Tipson and Eminent, all with short shelf life as they have BB in June, but I don’t mind!

Maybe they thought I am a collector of those wrappings, so they sent some tea as a package filling as well as to get rid of them.

Anyway, this one should be fresh. This is what I have ordered. And when I read it is “combination of excellent Chinese tea, natural peach and mandarin peel.” I thought it’s black tea. So, boiling water used for a green flavoured tea. Whoops.

But it doesn’t turn the tea bitter, it was nicely grassy, with some buttery aftertaste. Nice peach flavour, I have been expecting a bit bolder taste though. It was sweet ripe peach. For a tea bag, where real peach is rare, but it’s there… it was a bit too weak. The rose leaves included (not sure if petals or rose plant leaves as in Czech as well in Russian it is said in the same way).

It’s nice, but expected a bit more. Won’t rate so far as prepared wrongly. Although they suggested 100°C.

PS: My exam result? Sadly, I have failed. But it’s maybe better this way. Finals thus postponed to August. Still okay, though I have hoped to have everything done before my 26th birthday.

Found foil wrapped in my big bags. And Ceylon isn’t a bad tea. Even in bagged form.

They recommend 3-5 minutes steep; I did 4 minutes and honestly, it’s a bit too much.

Quite simple cup, maybe way too much. Bold and fullflavoured, but 4 minutes steep caused typical black tea bitterness and astringency. I am pretty much sure that shorter steep woin’t help much. Don’t expect any complexity. It doesn’t deliver that. Way too simple and boring even for bag.

Pretty decent Assam black tea, malty and earthy, slightly astringent and a bit sweet. I bought it to blend it with other varieties, but it turned out surprisingly good when brewed pure.

I have received this tea from postcrossing in the end of September. It is limited edition and I am afraid I will be only one who writes few lines on this site. This tea is overall well accpeted and reviews were saying it’s nice. Let’s see what thinks non-russian citizen.

It is flavoured black tea. When I took a sniff on pyramid sachet, a blueberry hit my nose. The leaf is broken, but nice size, not a fannings nor dust. Brew after 5 minutes (recommended time) is clear and copper colour.

The aroma of tea (brewed) is way more berry-like; raspberry and black currant. Taste is more mediocre. it is berry, but quite muted and only little of mint — rather just some cooling effect.

Overall, I have expected more fruity notes, especially when the aroma of pyramid sachet was so nice and pleasant; but it doesn’t transfer much to taste. The tea is probably Ceylon (as usual in Russian teas) because it is bit citrusy base, quite light and certainly there are no malty and robust flavours.

It has a perfumed, synthetic taste to it which makes me wonder if the ingredient list is accurate.

After ordering a box on Amazon without doing any research on it I am now left with 16 packets or so of it, afraid to use the rest lest they prove to be LETHAL, lol. Just kidding, but really, the taste is very off putting to me.

As far as Christmas teas go, this is definitely a miss and a huge disappointment. Skip this, go pick up Harney and Son’s Holiday Tea.

Now THERE is a tea that taste like Christmas… I did order the two teas at the same time, this one and Harney’s, so maybe I am just judging it so harshly because I am comparing it directly with Harney’s… which is, once again, FANTASTIC.

IF YOU NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS CHEER DURING THESE TROUBLED TIMES, CANNOT RECOMMEND HARNEY AND SON’S MORE.

Their White Christmas and Hot Cinnamon Spice teas are also fantastic as well.

Easter tea for Easter.

Altough they suggest 5-7 minutes, I did rather short, around 3 or 4 minutes.

It was somehow weak in flavour, but it can be caused by age. Noticed certainly vanilla but not citrus fruits but stone fruits instead, like cherry and sour cherry.

Quite an interesting taste combination, but certainly not bad one, it was actually quite tasty and nice. Pleasantly sour too.

Got two of these in an envelope from my friend with a T. Rex postage stamp on it. He said he was sending me a “moolong”. Well, these looked highly suspicious, but they’re surprisingly good—probably because they don’t actually taste like milk! Just a light, creamy, fruity floral. Really unique. Wouldn’t buy an entire box, but these are worth a try if someone offers you a bag.

Prepared this one as afternoon/evening tea. I had a long inventory check, then I slept about two hours when my father woke me up. But it’s okay, some days have to suck and then we will see the bright days better.

I just let it steep all time drinking, that wasn’t the wisest idea though. It contains hibi, so it turned out quite tart in the end, but I think they managed red grapes taste pretty well. It was kind of mouth watering, simple drinking fruit blend. It has got that pleasant sourness of red wine as well and it was even bit drying.

Honestly, I am kind of amazed that red wine/grapes taste can be in tea so well.

Certainly a recommended from me – considering a) tea bag b) kind of unique flavour, which is well transformed!

Third green tea tasting note today :D

I agree with Chi Chieko completely. 5-7 minutes as suggested must be too much for greens, so I did maybe about 3 minutes and as there was too little water, I did only 200 ml.

Turned out pretty nice, base tea was somehow basic, but pineapple was certainly there. Unfortunately, it was somehow one-dimensional, simple flavouring. Would enjoy some other tropic fruits there, or they claim it is with ginger, but I do not get any spicy notes. Maybe loose leaf would be bit better.

Some light peppermint taste. Balanced, but really nothing special.

Dry aroma wasn’t pleasing. It was very strong on lemon balm, earthy as well. On the bag they suggest brewing 5-7 minutes and with boiling water.

I did it with steeping maybe for 3-4 minutes; certainly not boiling water. I think it can be around 80°C, because it’s green tea after all.

Aroma is still earthy. And herbal. Bit lemony too.
But this tea tastes better than smells like. It is still somehow earthy, but it has got nice taste of lemon balm and more-less fresh green tea. Of course you can’t expect grassy notes or freshly cut grass, or all the nice things about really fresh tea. It brews brown too – not nice grass green colour.

I received this tea from Russia today via Postcrossing.

In water it turns into deep red colour (hibiscus makes its job) and exotic fruits aroma rises up. I have noticed in scents those (no order): orange, pineapple, mango, maybe bit of rosehip.

In taste (it was hot for long time) it was mostly pineapple and mango.

It was delight and quite suprisingly refreshing. Bit of tartness (but I steeped for really long, way too much)

The blueberry flavor is just noticeable, not too much or too little. The hibiscus adds a nice tartness that accentuates the tea very well.
