Thanks to Tamm I have been craving this! I broke down and bought one today. The guava puree is delicious and is the perfect foil for the fizzy, fermented kombucha. It’s true the flavor is quite vinegary and sour, but I kinda like that! It reminds me a bit of beer.
If they weren’t so expensive, I’m sure I’d be drinking them all the time. Yay for probiotics!
I really wanted to try another one of these last night so I picked this one up. It was the last one, so using my past method of choice being the one that has the most sold, I chose this. It really is not as pleasant as the others in this line. The vinegar smell is really overt in it and the flavors (raspberry, ginger, lemon) don’t really stand a chance. The ginger becomes the most prominent flavor in this; and to be honest, although familiarly like something my best friend’s mom used to make, is somewhat unpleasant in large doses. I really didn’t want to finish this one, but I did because I bought it at full price. This tastes more like a health tonic and less like something fun.
I wouldn’t really recommend it unless you are trying to look like a hippie who is trying to do alternative medicine…
Dear self:
Never, ever, look at what your drinking when you are enjoying this stuff. Scummy floaties are a real turn off for me. The vinegar smell in this is much more subdued than the guava one that I had yesterday. I started to read a bit more about this and really, these can’t be as healthy as they say they are…I tend not to trust branding which puts the “healthy” aspects of their product as the first line of defense instead of the actual quality/taste; even though this is excellent.
I’m pairing this with a particular honey greek yogurt and they match really well! This tastes much more jam-like than the guava. The fizzy aspect is much lighter as well. I think I figured out that the reason why I drink this slower is because it’s so damn fizzy! If I drink it any faster I think it would upset my tummy. I really find this to be pleasant without being too sweet or too vinegary. I think that out of the two, this one strikes the best balance; which is probably why this was the last one left!!!
I was having a bit of a bad week and decided that I deserved one of these. I really have enjoyed this one the few times I’ve had it. There was a mango one that I had not seen before, but due to the strangeness of many of these, I chose this! This is fruity and tart and probably the strangest thing I really enjoy drinking.
I feel like a total hippy for drinking this. But lo! My local store was having a sale on these and I figured it had been long enough that I may find one I like. I grabbed this one and one other to try out.
This took me awhile to actually drink. It is pretty big (16 oz). The smell right off the bat screams vinegar; which is pretty unpleasant. But the actual drink itself is pretty nice. I felt that the tangy-ness from the vinegar flavor helped out the tartness of the guava. Overall I would buy this one again. Bonus though for me is the super low sugar amount (14g) when compared to a soda. I will always turn down soda in favor of water/tea but this would be nice to have on hand to spice things up a bit.
The normal cost is pretty high ($3.75-ish) but on sale these were $2.50. Although that price isn’t really ideal either, it is nice to splurge every now and again.
I know right? I think that may be part of why I’ve avoided buying in the past. My first bottle was so weird to me that I dumped it. I actually got smart this time and since they were on sale I just picked some from ones that were the most empty. >:) I used my deductive skills to find the popular ones!
I drink kombucha fairly regularly, but as someone who’s not into the taste of alcohol, I tend to shy away from this brand. However, my local grocery store just started carrying it, so it’s on sale, and I figured, why not? After all, I really liked their line of chia teas, so I figured I’d give them another chance. I grabbed the Trilogy flavor, which is lemon, ginger, and raspberry. I adore lemon and raspberry, but I’m generally not a fan of ginger drinks; however, this flavor rules. I think this tastes better than bucha’s rose verbena, which was my favorite kombucha brand and flavor before today. I never thought I’d find a kombucha I could enjoy and not just look at as something I had to drink, but I think this might be it. It does go flat pretty quickly, but I find that most kombuchas mellow out when they’re flat, anyway.
I tried this tea for the first time on the second day of a 30 day juice fast. It blew me away! Now I know the fermentation causes the carbonation and that is one of the values of drinking Kombucha but I couldn’t handle all the fizz in my stomach so I put the lid on and shook it up a little. Letting the fizz out unlocks the deeper taste and doesn’t hurt the stomach.
Preparation
I started drinking Kombucha a few months ago. My sister introduced to the Synergy Organic and Raw Kombucha. My favorite flavors are Cosmic Cranberry and Passionberry. They are really fizzy and have a pretty strong vinegar smell (fermented), which turned me off at first. Just have to be open minded and sip slowly throughout the day! Apparently has many health benefits. So, it makes me feel good and wards off hunger! I don’t drink as much as I’d like because its kind of expensive but its a treat when I do!
I miss the version that they made before they were recalled a couple years ago. They use to be more potent and fizzier. I liked them better that way! :)
I know about the cost thing! These are super tasty. If the cost was less I’d probably order this one by the case. I think it’s become my favorite one! lolol Share the craving!
