Dear self:
Never, ever, look at what your drinking when you are enjoying this stuff. Scummy floaties are a real turn off for me. The vinegar smell in this is much more subdued than the guava one that I had yesterday. I started to read a bit more about this and really, these can’t be as healthy as they say they are…I tend not to trust branding which puts the “healthy” aspects of their product as the first line of defense instead of the actual quality/taste; even though this is excellent.
I’m pairing this with a particular honey greek yogurt and they match really well! This tastes much more jam-like than the guava. The fizzy aspect is much lighter as well. I think I figured out that the reason why I drink this slower is because it’s so damn fizzy! If I drink it any faster I think it would upset my tummy. I really find this to be pleasant without being too sweet or too vinegary. I think that out of the two, this one strikes the best balance; which is probably why this was the last one left!!!

Yesterday I was in an area of downtown Montreal that I don’t regularly shop at, but I decided on a whim to grab a drink and a snack for my metro ride home and I saw a bunch of new (to me, anyway) GT Kombucha flavours at the grocery store. So, I actually ended up with a backpack stuffed with bottles of kombucha for the ride home…

Honestly, this was pretty good! I think it’s probably pretty spot on for what you’d assume a strawberry kombucha would taste like – or, at least, it was for me anyway. Thick and a little jammy from the fruit juice used in making it, but that more dense sweetness is immediately balanced out by a kick of tangy, sour kombucha vinegar. In some ways, it almost had a balsamic kind of vibe? But, unlike the Blueberry Pomegranate kombucha I had recently from Cove, this time it was more of a good thing. Like a nice funk to it, instead of the sensation of drinking straight balsamic vinegar…
