I am enjoying this one iced and oh my goodness, it’s so yummy!
It tastes like juicy ripe oranges mixed with tropical passionfruit. Sweet but not too sweet, just right! I can only imagine how perfectly quenching this would be on a hot summer day!
I had a little taste as it was brewing and I definitely prefer it iced but wouldn’t say no to it hot either. I just prefer it iced if I have the choice.
One of the best ones I’ve had iced yet! I will have to remember this one come patio season and make a big ol’ jug of it when I have friends over.
Flavors: Fruity, Juicy, Orange, Passion Fruit, Sweet, Tropical
Blueberry and vanilla have been my favourite flavours since I was a small child, so I was cautiously excited about trying this. It was delicious!
It’s important to make sure you don’t get too much pineapple when you’re measuring it out or it adds an odd taste.
I only ordered 50g because I’d never tried it before, but next time I’ll get 100g.
It sure ain’t Reese’s!
I love chocolate and peanut butter together, so when I spotted this tea, I just had to try it! It’s tasty, but disappointing. It was a bit like drinking watery hot chocolate. I would rather eat my peanut butter cups along side a different kind of tea.
Flavors: Chocolate, Watery
I was concerned that it might be too hibiscusy, but I needn’t have been. There are so many lovely berries in this that you really don’t taste the hibiscus.
This is the sixth maté tea I’ve tried, and I’ve enjoyed all of them. Since it’s claimed to have health benefits, I just may have to watch for more flavours.
Flavors: Berries
When selecting teas for my last order, I wondered why I’d never tried this one, since I love both mint tea and green tea. As soon as I took my first sip, I realized there was a lot more to it than green tea and mint – it was quite spicy! I’d probably realized that in the past and avoided it for that reason.
Now that I’m used to the taste, I really don’t mind it, but it’s probably not one I’d choose again.
Flavors: Spicy
Lovely!
I was almost afraid to try this tea, thinking it would be loaded with sweetener. When I saw that it wasn’t, I decided to order a package. It is SO nice! Even the artificial flavouring doesn’t ruin it. I’ve only had one cup, but so far, I think this will be one of my favourites. With my luck, it will be discontinued shortly.
Headache Halo has a lot of ingredients but none of them are overpowering, which is often what makes a tea stand out as one I love or hate. That’s probably why although I’d tried it at my sister’s house before I bought it, I couldn’t remember what it tasted like (though I knew I’d remember if I didn’t like it).
It’s a pleasant, neutral tasting herbal tea that I would probably buy again.
I really like dark chocolate, cinnamon, coconut, and vanilla, so I figured I couldn’t go wrong with this one, but I’m not sold on cinnamon and chocolate together. It might be amazing “as a latte with a shot of Baileys” as suggested on the DAVIDsTEA website, but I never drink tea that way so am unlikely to find out.
Another thing – the chocolate is delicious, but leaves a greasy film on my mug and tea strainer, so it’s impossible to just rinse and reuse them. I’m sure that’s not a very good practice anyway!
Flavors: Chocolate, Cinnamon
Very pleasant aroma and flavour.
I was concerned that I might not like this when I realized hibiscus was the #2 listed ingredient, but I needn’t have worried. This tastes fresh and fruity and smells amazing. Even my husband, who doesn’t drink tea, likes the aroma!
Flavors: Fruity
(I just wrote a nice, long tasting note and Steepster ate it… So abridged version I guess.)
I haven’t had this tea in a long time, but I’ve been really enjoying exploring some of my more neglected herbal/rooibos blends in the late evenings and this was one that felt like it would fit that sort of “cozy late night movie binge under the covers” vibe even though Christmas is over now. It does, in fact, do this really well with a very toddy-like profile that leans heavy on the sweet ginger notes of the tea bolstered with syrupy honey flavour and apple-y undertones. Not a personal favourite because of the ginger, but definitely warming and enjoyable within this context.
Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Ros, given your extreme productivity, I am surprised you type directly into this, or any, website! Not just because of the occasional vanishment of long articles, but also for archival reasons. Websites vanish, domain fees get neglected, companies get sold and shift priorities. Even ad-supported sites with presumed perpetual security get shut down. Ever lost an email address when you haven’t used it for some time? I lost my ebay ID with thousands of items sale & purchase records and client feedback when I once fell ill for a time and was then inactive just a few months too long. poof. Now I always compose notes, reviews, letters, papers & documents into a generic txt or rtf file and save to backed-up storage before posting/sending. I suggest the same to others.
So, as I just wrote about, I had a cup of Honeycomb Chai earlier this week and it made me realize that I didn’t think I ever wrote a tasting note for this tea… Sure enough, nope!
Tinsel Toddy was a tea that was included in this past year’s 24 Days of Tea advent and, like Peanut Butter Brownie, it was fully advent exclusive. The reason that Honeycomb Chai made me think of this blend is because they have some overlapping tasting notes. The key difference is that this is one a rooibos base and it’s also a lot less sweet (IMO) than Honeycomb Chai, though it does have some sweetness because it shares an incredibly similar note of honey. No licorice root, though. Bless.
Because it’s inspired by a Hot Toddy, the other flavours (aside from honey) are lemon and ginger to give that lovely trio of flavours that often forms the base of a hot toddy. You just need to add in the splash of whisky and you’re all set! I find the ginger packs more heat in this blend, and that combo of hot ginger and honey is very soothing to me. I love a good spiced honey and that’s what this reminds me of.
Is it a favourite blend of mine? No. If it was I probably would have remembered to write a tasting note for it. Or, at least, I would hope so. But I think it’s kind of fun and I love the idea of warming up in the winter with a nice toddy. It gives me very ‘cozy cabin’ vibes!

Last one from my free DT Spring Fling sampler.
Not a huge fan, but mostly because it’s very coconutty and oily. Mostly I’m just tasting a whole lotta coconut, some apple, and a dash of chamomile. And quite a bit of sweetness from the blackberry leaf and blackberry leaf flavoring. Overall, too sweet and too much coconut for me.
Didn’t really like any of the teas in this sampler (other than the sencha, which was okay). But it’s always nice to give companies another try, and in this case confirm that DT and I just do not jive.
