Super busy these days – rest assured that i am drinking tea like a mad woman, trying to get my stash down so i have room to buy tea at the tea festival next weekend. this one is divine. looking forward to seeing what else AU will come up with.
i am a little but we had time this weekend to look at furniture for fun and next weekend is the tea festival :)
Ooh, this sounds fierce. Just don’t overdo it in the name of stocking up! (Just buy a few more storage bins)
Finished the last of this today since i SHOULD have my package in the nearish future with more of this. Stupid post office in the US decided it needed to keep my package for 3 weeks in customs. so much love for this tea…it’s like mousse au chocolat but with chestnuts. so excited to have a full 100g of this soon…..sooo sooon..
so fantastically happy that i picked up more of this over the weekend. I love this tea. Chestnut chocolate – reminds me of Paris. love.
LOVE this tea. Seriously, chocolate goodness. I really want more of this. I love the chestnut flavouring – subtle enough to be present but not overpower the chocolate.
sweet mother loving crap this one was delicious. Those of you who have been around a while, know that i adore mousse au chocolat from mf. this is as brilliant as that tea, while being a very different tea. black tea base? check. chestnut? check. rich chocolate? check. seriously. I wish i’d picked up a tin of this one.
Poke me before you do omg. I may be ordering a tin of this one but I want to try a few more of the teas I picked up first. Free shipping to Sharon over 50$
I figured i’d have another cup of this before sending the rest over to omgsrsly to try. I am digging this one more and more. today i’m getting more of the juniper and lemon balm along with the thyme. I certainly is an interesting experience and i am looking forward to seeing what the future holds with these august uncommon teas.
Another tea from this weekend – all i can recall is holy THYME! I need to have another cup of this before sending the rest to omgsrsly but this one is my least favourite so far as it’s more thyme, then juniper then black tea base. the balance seems off a little in this one.
A white pu’erh? Sounds exciting. To me it tastes like a bolder cup of quality white tea. Not grassy but sunny with a hint of fruit underneath. Not intriguing though. I think perhaps more experienced white and pu’erh tea drinkers would appreciate this more than I do.
This is a very herbaceous tea— aroma is juniper and thyme. Lemon balm helps to balance the flavor, and it really does taste as billed, “a walk in the woods.” Once again a very intellectually interesting tea from AU. What I am realizing is that it doesn’t hit the notes that I am looking for in a black tea— what I am missing is the tea itself. I haven’t found any of the AU teas uninteresting but have only reordered one flavor (Staring at the Sea). I think AU has a great concept and will definitely check out their fall collection, so we’ll see.
Very very floral, jasmine dominates. Almond remains confined to the aroma. First steep leaves my tongue feeling unpleasantly fuzzy.
Second steep still too floral for me… not my cup of tea.
Another from beelicious and to be honest, i’m not sure how i feel about this one. weird smell and an interesting taste. i think the black teas from August uncommon are more up my alley than others. For sure you can taste the anise, but it was balanced enough to only really come through as that sweet taste, I didn’t hate this one, but it wasn’t anything ZOMG MUST have either. still an interesting view in to AC’s teas. Thanks B!
thank you beelicious this is an intriguing brew. I think it falls in to the category of not for me, but this is unique enough that i’m SUPER glad to have tried it. there’s a cooked bread, artichoke feeling to this one…i almost feel like i should be adding a pinch of salt to it..it feels much more like i should be eating this rather than drinking it lol.
thanks for sharing beelicious….it’s a unique tea, just not for me haha but for sure interesting to taste.
