Another tea from today – i really enjoy this one from August Uncommon. That’s not to say that i don’t love their other teas, but this one is very much malt and library with a little dab of chocolate. the caraway isn’t extreme with this one, so its a well balanced cup of tea in my opinon, even if it isn’t as rich and indulgent as passage du desir. Still a fan of this one, and glad i picked up a tin!
Another one that i pulled out this morning and thoroughly enjoyed. Something to be said about how this one takes me back to morning with mom at the UofA reference library. all those wonderful dusty books, the quiet, the learning…the time with mom. heavenly.
i picked this one up without trying it in my august uncommon order because of the description: Feels Like: morning in an old library i hate descriptions like this…how does that tell me what the tea is like? yeah it doesn’t. until you drink it..and then you’re like OMG i get it!!! i love libraries and reading…and i am super happy with this tea. Dry, this smells like delicious chocolate and guiness. brewed there’s a slight amaretto/marzipan taste underlying the chocolate. i love this one. I love it slightly less than the passage du desire, but this is still a great tea imo. Different, smooth..soo nice.
Haha obviously, I’ll send some when I get around to mailing things to people. I have 120g so lots to share.
No rush. I have a box for you too! Also, I found the French butter keeper. But it’s blue. You interested?
the what now? OH we got one from the wedding..ian wanted to keep it. so we did. well it’s jsut a covered butter dish.
The one I have keeps butter fresh even in summer outside of the fridge. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_butter_dish
noms. sooooo goood. Anytime i pell this in dry form, i think i don’t relaly want it or i’m not in the mood, because it smells smokey…and i need to be in the right mindset for that. But then, when i brew it, i wonder why i haven’t had it more recently because while there’s smokey, there’s also a caramel, bourbon like flavour that is SO GOOD. Love this one.
Final Count: 107
God i love this tea. It smells like caramel and smoke and bourbon and amazing ness. I forgot to add a little maple to this cup as i really think that would make it extra delicious. That being said, i don’t NEED it in this tea to enjoy it. It’s just a really artful blending of
smokey, without being too smokey.
last of the new teas that i tried this weekend…i think. this one has smokey notes to it but in the way that really works with the tea. It’s not in your face smoke, rather it’s like the smoke you sometimes get in bourbon. Over all, after tasting a few of these newer august uncommon teas, i understand their descriptions a bit better in terms of what the tea might taste like. Really having fun with these.
Final Count: 123 (down to 55 in a month is totally doable..riiight? fml)
omg so many meetings today. Seriously, BORED NOW. lol i am glad i found my happy place with this tea again. For a while there i contemplated passing the whole lot of it off to someone else who might enjoy it because it wasn’t doing it for me. But that delicious, nutty hazelnut yum is back…and i’m happy because it’s not too sweet.
Didn’t get any sipdowns in today but i did get a hike in for Ruby AND a bike ride in for me and my other half – That means that if i can get in at least one other ride this year, i’ll finally be at more rides than previous years lol. Sadly last year was off to a great start and then i really crashed, so i feel like this year i’m starting from worse than last year. It’s good to get out though and we brought a friend who’s trying to get in to cycling so it was nice. This tea seems to be working for me more often than not, so that makes me happy since for a time it was kinda miss more than hit.
A little more room in my cupboard as i’ve managed to clear out a few of my older teas so this one is now more accessible. Had this the other day and i’m glad it’s still delicious and what i want. I think by the time i get through the last of it, i’ll be satisfied though, so that’s also a win in my books.
Look at you g with your sipdowns! And then here’s me whose cupboard is going to be stuffed after my trip to the States this weekend :P
it’s been a loooooooong process. lol ive been REALLY trying hard not to buy things. not travelling has helped with that! haha
I totally hear you! Plus I find there are certain times of the year when many companies come out with stuff I want to try. It’s interesting: I did a spending analysis of every dollar I’ve spent in the last 7 months and I put a separate category for tea. Some months I would spend $10, and my highest month was $150!
At least a lot of companies offer small amounts!
