1598 Tasting Notes
Bah. I was disappointed with this one again. Sometimes I feel like my Celestial Seasonings tea has more flavour than this one. :( I know adding milk makes that worse, but it just feels like it needs a dash.
Sad to say, but I’m dropping my rating on this. It’s no longer tin-worthy.
Also, how did I let myself run out of Butiki’s Pumpkin tea? :(
That’s the end of this one! I knew it wouldn’t last long. This tea delivers exactly what you’d expect from the title, and I really enjoy it, even if it is straightforward. I oversteeped it a little this morning, but that just gave it a bit of cremainess that I wasn’t expecting.
I think I’d pick up a little bit more if given the chance, but I wouldn’t go too far out of my way to do so. Can’t wait to get Sil and Kittenna their samples so I can see what they think.
I’m hanging out at York University for about 5 hours today, just to explore etc., but I sure wish I’d brought more than this with me! I suppose I’ll end up getting Tim Hortons coffee since there are 3 of those on campus. :P #teatraitor
Yep. This has to be my favourite of the Baywater teas!
I hate logging on my phone, but we should get our Internet set up tonight!
uh depends on what’s going on with work but if we plan it, i can be home for a specific time. also if um i can find an “easier” day this week i could always work from home…though i make no promises on how messy my house will/won’t be haha
Hahah. Fair enough. I’m just playing it by ear with Joe so I can snag a ride. :P If I get a chance, I"ll msg you.
I think it’s been decided that I prefer this over Mom’s Apple Pie. (thanks OMGsrsly)
And Mulberry Magic over Pistachio Cream.
And lots of teas over Sugar and Spice.
And the Pumpkin Chai is lacking depth of flavour.
But Cocoberry is a win!
I’m watching Season 3, Episode 1 of Downton Abbey. God, it’s getting so soapy but I adore it.
My first cup of this was so thick and reminiscent of molasses. It was too much so I had to dump it and steep it for 3 min. It was so much better!
It’s very strong, and malty, and slightly sweet and full of depth. I can’t wait to try the other samples.
Preparation
Glad you tried it again! Because of the freshness of the tea, it requires a shorter steep time than many other black teas! Hope you try the Chai and the Earl Grey soon!
Ok, now that the new-tea buzz has faded, I’m not so in I’ve with this tea. It just seemed like it wasn’t spicy or complex enough.
So far cocoberry and pumpkin chai are my favourites, and I think I might prefer Mulberry Magic over Pistachio Cream. So far.
Do you feel as though you need to double up on leaf for pumpkin chai to taste like pumpkin chai? or do you think it’s fine as is?
I love this ridiculous tea, and enjoyed it while getting through my re-watch of Cloud Atlas. I can’t believe how much that story has gotten under my skin, and then writing was so charming. I’ll re-read it someday, but for now I’ll try to read something new.
Anyway, I think I should keep 20g of this around. It’s not for everyday, but it’s nice to have around.
Cause you’re silly and didn’t want to add to my order :p
Oh yeah, I totally get this. It smells amazing, but is ultimately really weak. and I add milk to everything, so I understand the inclination (besides, I think you’re right that this tea especially makes you want to add milk). I’m sad that this didn’t taste as good as it smelled.
Aaaargh. Why didn’t I? :O
Well… there’s Black Friday.
if you’re hard up, i can see if stay minds adding it to the order i haven’t paid her for yet… lol
I also like Grandma’s Pumpkin Pie from Della Terra
Amy oh – I’m going to order some of that when I finally do my DTT order!
