1598 Tasting Notes
My Justea box arrived today and the mailman was nice enough to leave it outside for me! Whee!
I bought it on Boxing Day so I snagged 75g of Chai which is going into another box witha bunch of samples to my sister. I hope she enjos exploring all of these.
The first few sips of this were sorta sour and just really strong and ripe, and a little weird. But it mellowed out once it cooled and now it is really good: malty and fruity and strong. Phew! Now I have no regrets about 150g of this baby sitting on my shelf!
This is a necessary sipdown. I have a lot of teas coming in and I need to finish off some smaller ones so they don’t get stale.
Also, with the Amoda box teas I want to finish off the old ones before the new box comes! They might even have shipped already! :O
This one is sparkly and apply and very cozy. I should be going to sleep but I’m still getting used to going to bed at a decent time but so long as I’m on my bus by 8:09, I’m rocking! (And I can drink mate when I get to work. I only brought 10 teas with me. They said to make myself comfortable but I don’t wnat to scare them. Yet)
:P Seriously, when you’re used to having your cupboard nearby, how do you decide which ones you’re going to have near you for the majority of your day? At my last job I ended up having a whole drawer full of tea – maybe 30 different types/samples
And here’s this one again. Is this a sencha?
I don’t even know if I’ve had a sencha so I’m not sure where I’m getting this idea from, but it makes me think of sencha and cherry. And it’s sweet but also just a little salt. I sear I’m picking that up. It’s intersting, but not my favourite blend.
Just looking at reviews earlier and I’m reminded I will need MOAR moose tracks!
Preparation
And this is a sipdown of a tea I WILL sorely miss. But it was perfect today as I wanted to be alert for my first day at my new job! :D
I’m sorta an office manager/personal assistant at a company that does special effects for TV shows and movies. It’s amazing! And not only does it pay well, it’s everything else I want: casual, in my own boss, set my own hours, have my own personal space, am part of a small team… I get to wear turn jeans and geeky tees too! And I can possibly help with creating the effects (mostly dead bodies).
My boss told me to make my space my own so I’m bringing my kettle tomorrow, and a 10 pack of mini tins!
(and I work off my own computer so no one is checking if I pop on Steepster so, I’ll be more up to date on my logs!)
Thanks! It seems pretty perfect so far.
And we managed to arrange last minute daycare for our 19mo. 2014 is off to a great start!
I bought this on Black Friday but haven’t had a chance to try it yet. My bad.
This is really amazing. I was just sipping away at it distractedly while looking for daycares and I was just hit – whammmo! – with a burst of fresh lime. Wow. So refreshing. I can still taste the chamomile and the overall effect is quite soothing. Like floating on a cloud before sleep. Or some such nonsense.
Preparation
chamomile makes me sleepy.. i liked the taste of this one as well..my finum brew baskets just didn’t like it
Brew chamomile in paper, Sil! Or those plastic mesh tea bags you can find in some Asian markets. I pre-fill and iron mine shut for ease of use. :)
Wait. No. Stop. What happenes to the basket? Does it get all clogged by little dusty chamomile parts?
I’m looking at placing another fandom Adagio order so I thought I would enjoy another cup of this to remind me of the blends that I enjoy. I may need to restock this one. It’s smooth and fruity and relaxing.
And another surprise one from Janelle! This was goood, but not memorable. At least I drank it while I was messaging Shadowfall back and forth and before I knew it the cup was gone an the review wasn’t up. Hmm.
Ah well. It was pleasant, but it’s not one you can get any more… (yes it is)
Are you sure you can’t get it anymore? It’s still listed on the site, and my local store sells it still.
Oh, whoops! Looks like I just made a wrong assumption there! I had a few samples that were older teas and since I’d never heard of this I thought it was old too. :p
I don’t think it’s a very popular blend from David’s (or at least not one commonly discussed), so I guess I can see why it’s forgettable. I don’t think I’ll ever personally try it just because of the raisins…
Sipdown – oh yeah! (152)
I’m happy Janelle was able to send me a little of this. I was curious about how it would taste, but it’s not really my thing. I’m not huge into licorice/fennel/pepper. Intersting, but I’ll pass.
So I’m happy I didn’t end up with 2 oz of it!
:)
this is good stuff!
