1598 Tasting Notes
If my daughter were to review this, she would say, “Oh, wowwwww!”
I steeped it for a long time and then added a tsp of milk to make it extra creamy like an orange chocolate.
“Oh, wowwww!”, indeed!
Awww. Who says she’ll be gone? What if we just stay in Toronto FOREVER? :O /0\
But maybe? I’ve got a really great job, and J is more likely to get work as an economist over here!
Awwww. :O
Maybe if J gets some fancy analyst job making mega bucks we can buy a cabin north of here to escape to on the weekends and you guys can come visit for board games and tea, and IDK?
That cabin is what’s making me think long-term ON might not be so bad. :| And the bear will be older by then so board games WILL be feasible again!
Thanks BrewTEAlly Sweet for letting me try a sample of this.
It’s interesting. I can taste the puerh and spearmint and tulsi.
And the peppercorn and just possibly the star anise.
It’s forest-y, that’s for sure. And it’s an interesting idea, but I don’t know that I would go out of my way to get more.
Yowza! I couldn’t finish this cup this morning. It was just TOO strong. I think I oversteeped it and that made it thick and tar like. DNW.
I’ll be more careful next time because I remember that it had a nice lemon bergamot flavour when I did it right!
I said BERR
It’s GREY in here
Must be some EG fans in the ATMOSPHERE
(Man, that’s the best badgood movie ever.)
So I guess I skipped this one on Christmas, but – well, the name doesn’t really call to me.
I guess it’s Christmassy because it has orange in it? That’s definitely orange. And there’s lemongrass. And maybe some spices? This isn’t too bad but now it’s cooling and getting a little bitter.
Oh and the baby is asleep and it’s only 9:40. I’m going to go to bed at/before 11:00 if I can and here’s hoping she’ll stay out the rest of the night!
I just got this one from MissB. Smells lovely, but I’m going to wait till the weekend. :) I think I’ll just cold steep.
I’ll try! But I’ve got buttloads of daycare paperwork to fill out. I guess. Sleep = soooooon.
Also it’ll be a lot better once I can drive J’s car because my commute would go from 80 to 40 minutes. I just need more practice with the shift stick.
Oh yeah! We did! She’s going to the University student one and we get a discount bc J is a TA. It looks pretty good they feed the kids and take them for walks to the arts building so they can watch people dance etc.
Nice! You’re so lucky she got in. The daycare at my uni is so hard to get into. My coworker had another baby and they’ve left the older one in daycare so they have at least one guaranteed spot!
Yeah we wanted in that one too but after being on the list for 8 months the best we could get was 2 days, and one of those days we didn’t even need!
We found a really good place that’s just south of Lougheed if your coworker needs an alternative. It’s a bit out of the way if she commutes, but the people who run it were really great.
I believe this was another one from Janelle. I really like it. It tastes like a minty green tea – Moroccan mint? – but there’s this earthiness lurking behind each sip. It’s an interesting contract, but this is definitely one of the better blends from David.
Also there’s no weird sparkles or additives.
This one probably doesn’t exist anymore either. :(
So thank you Janelle for letting me try it! Maybe I can get Herbal Infusions to try and resurrect it – I think they said something about making tea limited edition blending kits so you can resurrect favourite teas – this could be a good one for that.
I’m pretty certain this one had puerh in it too. I remember something like this a few years back. It should actually be relatively simple for you to DIY if you have some loose gunpowder, mint and puerh
I made a timolino of this today, except that I didn’t really. I think I turned my kettle off after putting it on as this water is barely warm. So the tea is barely steeped.
:(
I’m still trying to get in the habit of getting to bed at a proper time for work, but the kiddo stays up until midnight and I keep ending up with 6 hours. My poor brain! Next week will ( easier bc she’ll be up earlier for daycare, while her dad is in class.
I will make real tea when I get to the office!
Thanks! I’m sure it’ll work out.
Also I just successfully steeped Butiki’s caramel vanilla assam and am quite happy now.
I can’t function on less than 7 hours of sleep… but function better on 8-9. I am one of THOSE people. When I hear of people who only get 5 hours of less all the time, it makes me cringe
I used to be able to get by on 6 hours, but now that I’m getting old, lol, I need at least an average of 7.5 hours. I can do 6 hours once or twice a week, if I do 8 or more another night or 2 to make up for it. I’m really bad about staying up til 2am, my creative juices start flowing around 8 or 9pm. That’s why you never see me on steepster before 10am or later :)
God when I was younger I wouldn’t sleep for days and when I crashed I would sleep for like 12 hours. My body now whines if I dont get at least 7.5 a night.
I did 6 hours a night for a long time bit it wasn’t enough, and it made me irritable, emotional and unable to remember anything. I can’t believe how much happier I was once I averaged 7.5+!
They say an extra hour of sleep a night would give ppl more happiness than 60,000 salary increase. Or something like that heh
It was so insanely cold today that I made this to help me keep warm.
It didn’t really taste that good in my timolino.
Damn.
Also, bringing teas for the office doesn’t help anything if you don’t bring anything to STEEP YOUR TEA. >:| The boss brought me a double double from Timmies so that was acceptable.
You gettin a car? :)
Yay for money!
Joy of public transit in the GTA. It used to take me 60-90 main to get home to from one if my jobs. Luckily I went to the end of the route on most of the buses, because we were often so tired at the end of shifts that it wasn’t uncommon for people to have accidents in the parking lot.
Glad things are otherwise going really well!
I’m going to get practice on my bf’s standard. Stupid stickshift.
Yyz- yuck. That sounds really awful, but it is nice having a bus that goes to the end – then you can nod off or watch TV on a tablet or something. Right now I’m terrified I’ll miss my stop.
Generally that’s what happened:). I know what you mean about the stops though especially now with slush covered buses whose windows you can barely see out of. Good luck with the standard!
Yay for money squared!
