So I’m not a big Earl Grey fan, but this is actually really nice. The bergamot is there but not ‘perfumy’ like I find it to be in some blends. The citrus flavours are zippy too, but each sip almost ends up on a creamy note. Very nice.

I hadn’t heard of this company before, but I guess I’ll be keeping an eye on them from now on to see what else they have.

Sweet. This answers the question I was about to pose to you! :D

TeaLady441

Hehe. I was subtler this time.

Kittenna

Worked fabulously. I just got mine today. I don’t know of anyone else on here who also gets the subscription, so I’m talking openly about it in my notes now that I know you have yours too!

TeaLady441

Well don’t worry about spoiling me – I ended up peeking on the website. I’m no good at surprises. :)

We’re talking about the Amoda tea boxes!

ohfancythat

Ohhhh cool!!

OMGsrsly

And this company is in Langley. I’ll have to check them out when I do my annual pilgrimage…

TeaLady441

I’m surprised they weren’t on Steepster until I added my tea. Depending how I feel about the other two teas, I may need to place an order.
Well… need might not be the right word.

I wasn’t sure about this one at all as I’m not a big fan of tumeric or ginger, but it was $1 or something so I figured why not! It does have licorice which I like!

OMGsrsly reviewed this earlier and helped convince me to give it a shot. And you know what? It wasn’t too bad! I decided to ignore the recommended 7 minute steep time because that just sounds like ginger-overload, and I went for 3.5. This way I get a slightly sweet, slightly tangy cup and the ginger and licorice mix together nicely. The licorice gives me that nice cool mouthfeel, while the ginger/tumeric alternately kick things up a bit. Yet it works. It really does.

I’m not saying I’d go out and buy an oz of this, but my 20g pack won’t be too hard to sipdown and maybe I’ll get more? I want a nice licorice tea and this would be handy for sick days.

drank Coconut Oolong by Zen Tea

Yes! I was going to re-steep my Assam from Butiki but I had to take a break and drink some of this as it’s been sitting in my timolino for 4 hours now. I love being able to switch between two teas with both timo’s full.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this tea. I still don’t really know which one I prefer – this or DT’s. I guess when they’re this good it doesn’t really matter?

I am relaxing to a Pride&Prejudice inspired mix on 8tracks, which is great because I spent the morning watching Dr Who fanvids and tearing up. :P

This was another surprise sample!

So, no idea what this tea is all about or what it has in it (besides Assam?) but it is rather nice. I guess that should go without saying as it IS a butiki tea. :P

I brewed it to spec and ended up with a dark amber coloured tea that smells almost like it has honey in it. And I’m getting fruity smells in there too. It tastes like a nice medium strength tea with a touch of sweetness in it. I really should drink the Premium Taiwanese Assam I ordered so that I can get a better sense of what this one is like in comparison.

I’ll re-steep and possibly update later!

Lucky me! Stacy surprised me with a sample of this in my last Butiki order! :O

I haven’t even tried the Premium Taiwanese Assam I ordered because I was so excited about this one. It’s so good. I wish my head wasn’t feeling so bad right now because I just can’t do this tea justice by trying to review it as the words won’t come out of my head but… it’s good you guys. Really good.

And I’ll try to add more when I re-steep it.

Tealizzy

I just got the 1 oz.of this tea I ordered, but can’t drink it yet because I can’t do too much caffeine later in the day. I guess I’ll just keep sniffing the bag! Haha!

TastyBrew

just make a small cup Tealizzy, you know you want to ;-)

Tealizzy

Haha! Stop tempting me!!! ;)

ohfancythat

Doooo itttt ;)

Tealizzy

I just did it! You guys are so bad! It’s steeping right now!!!

TastyBrew

Ha! Awesome.

TeaLady441

Haha. Hope you enjoy it!

ohfancythat

Can’t wait for your review!!

Tealizzy

I just resteeped it because one cup wasn’t enough! Yum! Will work on tasting note!

TastyBrew

It resteeps really well too. yummmmmmm

Sil

I waaaannnntttttt my teaaaaaaaaa. Bah

Crowkettle

I’m trying to avoid looking at all the notes on this tea but it’s everywhere. Is it wrong to place an order with Butiki so shortly after receiving the another one?

So, vegetable tea? Wouldn’t that be soup?

Not at all apparently! This is very nice. The green tea base is very light and grassy. I’m trying to figure out if it’s reminding me of Korean Sejak, or a sencha or what.

The warm tea is grassy with peach undertones, but if you chill it it’s even better. Light. Grassy. Peachy. Refreshing! This tastes like spring.

Courtney

Haha “wouldn’t that be soup” – yes I had second thoughts when looking over this one. Perhaps my next Della Terra order I’ll try this one out.

TeaLady441

Yeah I thought it was pretty good, and that I’d better give it a rating to help others out as it’s so new. Maybe try an ounce of it at least. It mostly tastes like green tea with a bit extra so I doubt this would be one that would be undrinkable even if it wasn’t a favourite.

JennyFur

Reading the description of that tea weirded me out, but I’m glad to see its not bad.

drank Classic Chai by Teajo Teas
1598 tasting notes

This was a free sample from Teajo!

This makes a nice and balanced Chai that I’m really enjoying. I’ve had a few lately that had too much cardamom or something, but I have no complaints here! When I was choosing my sample, I noticed that the prices were pretty reasonable – I might have to place an order.

I wish I could just smell this tea all day…

drank Cream by Adagio Teas
1598 tasting notes

Mmm. Thanks JennyFur for the sample. This is quite excellent. It smells a little like cocoa or caramel, but it tastes like subtle creamy vanilla in a nice smooth tea. (which apparently is Ceylon based?) I could drink this one quite often just as it is.

Oh, Adagio! I would give you so much money if you would have reasonable ship costs to Canada! :|

Oh this is so good, but really why am I surprised? Every tea I’ve ordered from Butiki has exceeded my expectations.

Once I let it cool a little it really tastes like cool cantelope with a touch of cream. It’s not really “cool” because the tea is warm but it still tricks my mind and makes me think THIS IS SO REFRESHING.

I’m happy I gave this a shot because for some reason I wasn’t entirely sold on it by the name. My brain just does that sometimes.

I’m certain this would be remarkable iced too.

Oh, and this is a tea that I plan to re-steep and re-steep again. I don’t want to waste anything.

I’m not sure if maybe I oversteeped it or the water was too hot, but this didn’t really make me think of white chocolate. It did remind me of DavidsTea’s Cookie Dough so I guess that makes sense, but this was slightly bitter. I’m happy I was able to try it, but I think I’d order one of the other chocolate teas instead.

Thanks JennyFur for the sample!

Tealizzy

Ya, try steeping this for only a minute or so. It’s better that way.

TeaLady441

Thanks! I’ll try to remember in case I get another sample to try!

Ozli

Huh! This sounds like something Kelly would like.
