1598 Tasting Notes
We had company over so there wasn’t anywhere to really hang out once the baby was up, so I took her out for a walk and ended up at the mall. I meant to grab a go-cup of something with caffeine but grabbed this instead. I shared it with the baby and she really seemed to enjoy it, so after wandering around for another hour, I went back and bought 50g of this and agave.
Should this count for breaking my tea buying hiatus? I say…. no. :P Haha. I figure it was for the baby, and the guests we’ll have over tonight and I think 50g will only work for 2 large pitchers anyway. But the point is I didn’t buy it for me. So I’ve been good! Bwahahaha.
ETA: When I was in DavidsTea I was trying to convince the salesperson to join Steepster as it is so amazing and awesome. She said she’d check it out, but if I was thinking I would have told her who I am there too. IF she does join, how will I find her? :P Whoops
Preparation
Another sipdown!
So I came home and had packages from Momo and JustJames! So, with that and this sipdown I’m at 160! Let’s see if I can get that down…
Sipdown! (155) – I decided to keep displaying my numbers when I do a sipdown so I can stay focused on bring that back down to a reasonable number!
I’m usually always in the mood for a black tea, but this was perfect for the afternoon. It smells like peaches and it tastes like cream. I think I’d be interested in getting this in the future but only if I manage to find it in some crazy sale like Sil did. :)
Preparation
Welcome to the accountability club! Reminding myself of my number when I do a sip down (or add teas) has really helped me regain control of my stash
So I’m drinking this now although I’m really not in the mood for it. It’s just freezing in the office and I decided to wear a dress for some silly reason. And the tea keeps me warm, but after 40oz of A&D’s Mount Grey and Verdant’s Yabao, I figure I better have something herbal/rooibos.
It’s ok. Less special the more I have it.
Well! Who knew? This is an Earl Grey (Gray?) that I really enjoy! The bergamot is strong but doesn’t cross the line and make me think of perfume. The base is strong, and I’m getting some kind of fruity notes as well! Fun!
Now, I just need to remind myself that THERE WILL BE OTHER SALES. I don’t want to order this tin before I’ve tried the other teas from A&D. What if Caravan is my fav? Or Double Knit?
But yes. I think that I would like some of this in the future!
Thank you TerriHarpLady
Now I have to listen to Picard ordering tea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2IJdfxWtPM
ETA: Apparently this is also a sipdown (156). I finished my last cup and immediately wanted MOAR so I brewed up the last of my sample. Added to my shopping list.
Preparation
you know the new guy (matt smith) is out and we’re getting a…..mature doctor this time. i have mixed feelings. i miss tenant too.
Wait has it been announced who it is? I’ll miss Smith as well, but I guess the Tennant era was when I first fell hard for DW.
Ok, so I really wanted this tea to work – it’s very pretty to look at, and it smells good. I cold-steeped it overnight and am enjoying it now.
The flavours are very mild, but I’m definitely getting pepper in it. It’s also slightly floral and creamy. I can just about taste the marshmallow notes. Mmmm. This is definitely a very nice tea when it is iced. I’m glad I can actually taste it this time!
I don’t really see how you can call this a puerh as it definitely reminds me of white tea and only white tea – it’s all flowers and lightness, not dark dank earth. I’m not really complaining though because that was what I expected from the description!
ETA:* After my success icing this tea overnight, I thought I’d better try it hot too! And it’s still great. And very peppery! I’m not getting the floral notes as much, but it’s still a bit creamy. And a little tough to describe. I wonder if I used up too much of the leaves cold-steeping it last night?
Preparation
I know I just had this yesterday but I wanted tea and no caffeine and this was so good and it’s also an easy sipdown (157) that instantly is moved to my shopping list.
Thanks again Kittena
I think I like this more than the DT version.
Yay! Sipdown achieved today after all!
Thanks Sil
So I steeped the heck out of this walking between the office and getting caught up in a 10 minute conversation with my boss about GuildWars2 (him and his wife play and he was excited that I made a character).
Thankfully this can handle it. If anything it just brings the cinnamon out as that’s the prime ingredient I’m getting. And then apple. It’s very tasty for a bagged tea. The apple is really tasty. I don’t really get caramel but it’s enjoyable enouugh.
158 teas in the stash! :O
Preparation
I thought I would brew this one as it looked like an easy sipdown, but when I opened the bag, I realized I actually had 3 tea bags in it! So, no sipdown today but I get to enjoy this tea two more times!
And I am enjoying it. It’s doesn’t blow my socks off, but it’s nice and green, and I like the cherries. Seems to me it’d be easy to cherry wrong, and make it artificial and gross, but this is quite nice!
Thanks TerriHarpLady! for letting me try this!
I like that this was Memoirs of a Geisha tea as well – I enjoyed the book and the movie!
Definetly does NOT count….in fact since you are sharing tea with baby and guests, you are allowed a bonus Harney and Sons order…..good deeds, and all that….and you introduced a tea person to steepster…..maybe a butiki order too……
Hahahah. You are awful. :) (Awful good at tempting me)
I say this doesn’t count towards breaking your ban, BUT, no special privileges come along with it! :P
Haha. That’s perfectly acceptable by me.
Can I make a butiki order then? I need to try them out and do another harney order and I need DT pink passionfruit…..like 3 orders…..really only 2 since I can get DT in store…..which reminds me, I need tropicalia too…..so 2,3 orders then I would go on a hiatus too….
Hahahahahaha :P
