467 Tasting Notes
I’m still enjoying this Earl Grey from SereneTeaz. It has a very strong bergamot scent and taste. I have changed my brewing time from 4 min. to 2 min. I have no idea why I was going with four. I guess I thought I just needed a hearty wake-up tea. Two minutes is much better. Still plenty of wake-up! The two minute brew drops the bergamot down to a level that is better for me.
I just went to Weight Watchers and I am down another 1.5 pounds. Of course, what do I want to do to celebrate the weight loss… go get some donuts. Will I be able to control myself through the use of yummy teas? Or will that just make me want the real thing even more?
Preparation
Thank you 221tea for this lovely sample. I love dessert teas and this is very nice. I smell the almond well and the rooibos somewhat less in the dry tea. The taste is sweet almond and a small amount of cherry. I (as always) have to try it with a tiny bit of my favorite vanilla stevia. It brings up the almond and cherry both. I am worried that I have gotten too use to the sweet teas and will have trouble when I get the Butiki Educational Traveling Tea box. Will I be able to appreciate the subtleties of “good” teas? I really hope so and I promise not to add stevia to the “good stuff”.
Preparation
Hey, there’s no wrong way to enjoy tea. You don’t hear people not putting toppings on their burger or pizza so they can enjoy the “real deal” :)
I agree with keychange! Enjoy your tea however you like. If vanilla stevia takes the experience up a notch… endulge!!
I would love to take credit for sending you this tea, because it sounds lovely, but alas, it didn’t come from me. :) I have not mailed my package out yet because I am waiting for my small baggies to come in.
Lol. I do the same thing with my tea. I can’t seem to drink most of them without adding some sort of sweetener (usually truvia). Lol. All of the teas I tried from the Butiki TTB I tried without sugar first just so I could compare them better. Then I usually added some sweetener to the cups afterwards just to see what they’re like, especially if it was something I considered maybe looking for in the future. Lol.
This tea has a beautiful red color. I leafed pretty heavily knowing that I generally like a fuller herbal. This is a bit tart so I sweetened with a bit of stevia. I can tell that this would be a refreshing cold brew. Often the cold brewing takes out a bit of tartness, so I will see what I get.
I’m not sure that I know what passionfruit tastes like. Maybe I’ll try some actual passionfruit and add more to this note.
Preparation
This tea has really grown on me. The first time I had it after my daughter’s recommendation, (she said it was her favorite). I thought ok but not great. Now, it is one of my favorites. I love the kick it gives me in the morning. It was interesting that they list rooibos first since rooibos has no caffeine. But, wow, that mate really comes through. I’m wide awake. It has a nutty favor and the mate part has the slight chocolate flavor I always sense in mate. The taste is great and very full bodied.
Preparation
I’m not a big fan of the “Breakfast” teas. I did enjoy this tea and liked the mix of black flavors. It’s a nice bold taste and was a good wake up tea. Nothing particularly different from many other “Breakfast” teas but still enjoyable.
Preparation
I combined Almond Plum Perfection from Teavana with a little French Plum by Cameron. Pulls up a bit more of the plum flavor (Duh). A sweet tea that I made as a nice cold brew. The hibiscus in the Almond Plum Perfection is mellowed a bit by the cold brewing. I brewed it for about 8 hours. Nice refreshing cold tea!
It’s Spring! Maybe summer is around the corner. This tea has a very lovely floral/lemon aroma from the dry leaves and after brewing. The taste a smooth gentle floral lemon with some mint. I happen to really like Lemon myrtle after my trip to Australia. I know the lemon is strong but I like it. The tea itself is not particularly strong and doesn’t fulfill my need for a full bodied evening non-caffeinated tea, but I really didn’t think it would be. I think this would be good cold but Idon’t have enough to do a cold brew. It is a nice Spring-y tea for the start of spring weather.
I had another cup left in the tea pot. So this has been sitting for a bit. It hasn’t been steeping or anything. The lemon myrtle is much stronger and I can easily identify it as lemon myrtle not regular lemon. Still like it. Reinforces my thought that it would make a good ice tea.
Preparation
I love that all the descriptions of lemon myrtle includes the phrase… " more lemon-y that lemon". I developed a love for it when we were in Australia. Lemon myrtle soap, shampoo, lotion, everything. It is harder to find the essential oil here but as TeaBrat says you can find the herb at many herb stores. It really brightens up an iced drink well.
I think this lovely tea is from Zwi, if I am wrong I apologize to all involved. It is quite a nice green with coconut traces. The dry tea is attractive with nice pieces of green tea and cute little bits of coconut. It really expands when steeping. I can’t help think about those poor leaves trapped inside the little ball steepers from yesteryear. They would be pounding their way out as it got more and more crowded, calling for help… wow, good thing I have a big steeper basket. Think of all those nice tea leaves we murdered. :-( Okay, I’m back from crazy world. Nice tea.

Again I don’t know who sent this but Thanks! I tend to like my chai pretty spicy and with a lot of cardamom. A nice chai but a bit lacking in cardamom. Liked the name but the tea isn’t particularly exciting.
