Thanks pkmnnerdfighter for this swap. :)

I’m getting some holiday teas soon so I have to finish up some of these lovelies. This is the second time I’ve had this and I am enjoying it as much as I did before. Nice white chocolate, tasty mint but no peppercorn. I think the peppercorn would have added a bit of a punch which might have been nice. No caffeine… wonderful!

I’m finishing off this genmaicha as I just got some from Bird Pick Teas and felt I should finish one before I start the other. I have enjoyed this tea a great deal. It’s so different from most teas with the lovely rice, etc. The flavor is smooth and mellow. Very relaxing. Mmmmm!

What a lovely tea! I have resteeped this 6 times today and I have enjoyed every cup! The strawberry is awesome and in combination with the chocolate is heavenly! Time to quit the caffeine or I’ll never get to sleep tonight.

drank Winter Spice by Twinings
467 tasting notes

I had this tea a few days ago and wasn’t impressed. Seemed too cinnamon-y. When I made it today, I didn’t have any problem. The cinnamon seemed to move out of the limelight and added just enough spice along with the cardamom and cloves. This time I brewed it for 4 minutes with a bit less water (12 oz./2 teabags). A nice winter-y evening chamomile!

Thanks KatBender!

Flavors: Apple, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Clove

Well, I had my first intro to tea party. I had a bunch of retired teachers over and introduced them to loose leaf tea. I thought there were going to be about 13 people and then at the last minute a bunch of people RSVP-ed and suddenly there were 23! Just getting the logistics of where to put people in the living room was a challenge. :D

I wasn’t trying to be an expert and try to go with the unflavored teas as this was just a general intro. I basically made teas that I enjoy in each of the basic groups: black, green, white, herbal, honeybush, rooibos and mate. I made 7 teas… Earl Grey Creme from Teavana, Citrus Green from Adagio, Youthberry from Teavana, Chocolatea from Sereneteaz, Tropical Fruit Rooibos from Spice of Leaf, Vanilla Honeybush from Infusion Bouteaque, Chocolate Rocket from David’s.

Juggling the making of tea was less tricky than I thought. The Breville did a great job!

We had a lot of fun and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. Most of the people had never had “good” tea before and were very excited.

I served raspberry scones, butter cookies and cucumber sandwiches using my grandmother and great-aunt’s best china. Everything looked so nice with the good silver, china and fancy cloth napkins.

After they left I was so exhausted!!! I had really gotten my self stressed trying to figure out the logistics of the whole day. But it was fun!!

Nicole

Wow! 23 guests for your first tea! Sounds like a fun time. :)

Too bad you don’t live in Northern Alabama, you might have had 24. :)

Lilysmom

Sounds like a nice day – well done!!!

Hey, the more the merrier! :)

Tealizzy

I’m hosting a tea party tomorrow, but fortunately with just 3 others! 23 sounds stressful! :)

KatBender

Aw, that sounds like a great party! And it sounds like you had a great selection of teas, too. :D

A simple, light green tea with a gentle citrus taste. Nothing exciting but a nice calming healthful tea.
I checked on Adagio’s site but they don’t list this as a loose leaf in a tin at all. I bought this at Meijers in a very nice tin. On sale it is only $8.00 for 4 oz. They also had the Ingenuitea brewing mug on sale for $15.

I have the round sachets of this. It seems to be primarily tea dust when I opened the canister. I cut open one of the sachets and it was basically filled with dust. If I were trying to steep this in an infuser, it would all just go through the infuser holes.

The canister label says, “Refreshing with a pure lemon essence”. How could it have a pure lemon essence if this is made from lemongrass?

The taste isn’t bad. It’s an enjoyable cuppa for the early evening after a busy day filled with too much Chocolate Rocket! As usual with the Chocolate Rocket, I had way too much energy and did way to much. Put grout on part of the basement tile floor (15×15), walked almost 6 miles and finished raking the leaves. Now I’m exhausted and I need a relaxing tea. So this works!
I used three bags for 16 oz of water. Still a little weak.

drank Vanilla Comoro by Harney & Sons

Ahhhhh…. There is just something about going back to an old favorite. I love swaps but sometimes ya just get tired of taking a chance with the tea. This tea just works! It’s got what I need right now… a full black tea, vanilla, no caffeine.

Now i just need to relax and ignore the stupid football game that my husband is watching. Maybe I’ll go into the bedroom and watch another TV… reruns of Orphan Black? Grimm? Sleepy Hallow? Well, we’ll see what the magic eight ball decides.

Nicole

I really wanted to restock this one but it wasn’t in stock when I placed my last order!

Inkling

Mmm, love a good vanilla tea!

One of the reasons I like this one so much is that I can find it at several different grocery stores near me. :D

Not a huge fan. I think there was too much dust rather than leaf. I taste the pecan somewhat but hardly any maple. Sometimes I wonder how long a tea like this might sit on a shelf in the warehouse and then the store especially since it is a somewhat seasonal tea.

drank Sweet Apple Cider by DAVIDsTEA

The first cup was wonderful but the next cup (Brevilles make a minimum of two cups) was very artificial and bitter. I had such high hopes for this tea at the beginning. It had a great aroma and seemed like a perfect fall drink but, alas, no.

Thanks KatBender for this sample.

I haven’t had much luck with David’s Teas lately except for the love of my life… Chocolate Rocket!
KatBender

Aw, sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy it! I’ve had some trouble with it too… There’s just something about the apple that seems sour/artificial/off to me. Sad. (And here I was hoping it was just my steeping methods.) I’m excited to try Chocolate Rocket!

Retired first grade teacher. I tend to like dessert type/herbal teas as a substitute for sweet treats; flavored black teas and mates to get that energy that I am often lacking ;-p
My husband of 43 years thinks I’m nuts regarding the whole tea thing… but he bought me a Breville for Christmas, so what can I say. :-D
My other interests are reading (books go well with tea :D) and beading. I volunteer at my “old” school teaching reading and I volunteer for the blind. I am trying hard to lose weight ( I have now lost 40 lbs and I’m looking good in my skinny jeans, IMHO) I am now walking about 4.5 miles a day and I am trying to do some core work for about 30 min. 3x a week.

I have been watching Doctor Who for 33years. In case you can’t tell my avatar is two daleks drinking tea! I am always open to swapping Doctor Who books for tea. I have about 120 Doctor Who books that I am eager to send some to a fan. :D Let me know if you would like any books! I love that so many people have begun watching DW!

Also I love swaps, pm me if you’d like to do a swap.

Since I find others’ rating legends helpful, I added my own.

95-100 A once in a lifetime experience; the best there is; will keep this stocked until the cows come home

90-94 First rate; top notch; really terrific; will definitely buy more

80-89 Excellent; likely to become a favorite, will likely buy more

70-79 Very good; would enjoy again, might buy again if in the mood for this particular one or a better, similar version not available or it’s on a really good sale :-)

50-69 Good; wouldn’t pass up if offered, but probably wouldn’t buy again unless craving this particular flavor

Below 50 Meh! Wouldn’t bother drinking it again.
