STTB Tea

I drank this a few days ago but didn’t post a review. Tasty as a latte. The blueberry is quite tasty (and juicy). Overall, I enjoyed my cup, however I wasn’t really big into the base. I found it a bit too vegetal when I was looking for…I don’t even know. It was a good cup but lacked a certain something (I’m not sure what that was, though). This is why you write a review right after you drink it instead of days later.

STTB Tea

I’ve had this hot and cold-both ways are quite nice. The hot steep was more citrusy but the cold steep had more marshmallow and popcorn flavours. There are so many different flavours I found it difficult to place them all. I almost want to say cotton candy, but I think it is more just sweet. It tastes a bit like a lemon angel food cake IMO.I’ll have to order some of this before they discontinue/sell out.

Flavors: Butterscotch, Citrus, Fruity, Marshmallow, Popcorn, Sweet

Roswell Strange

It’s meant to taste like Cotton Candy, personally I get Fruit Loops more than anything.

VariaTEA

Popcorn! I had this the other day with this tea and was like wtf?! Glad someone else got it.

Sil

i bought 200g of this nonsense….i dunno what’s wrong with me ‘cause i usually don’t love really sweet teas like this but there’s something about the flavour..

VariaTEA

@Sil, is that something popcorn?

STTB Tea

I thought I would like this one because I love oatstraw and dried grass in herbals. This one tastes like licorice root, celery seed, and some spices from your grandma’s spice cabinet. Despite the pretty colour, I can’t really get into this blend. The fruit is faint, the metallic overly sweet licorice root doesn’t go at all, and the blend doesn’t have any lavender from what I can taste. It was a neat experience to taste this, however I don’t see myself wanting to have this again. I think I associate the savoury herbs with medicinal stuff and it doesn’t make me enjoy the cup as much.

Delicious lychee flavour! Somehow the toasted rice goes very well with the fruity flavour. The black base is quite nice – lightly honey/sweet flavour, a good balance of trannin while not being bitter. I will def. be ordering this next time I order from this company. Thanks for sharing!

STTB Tea

This was in a package labelled chocolate stout, which I was very excited to try. It turns out to be a herbal instead. Regardless, I thought it would make a good morning cup since I love chocolate teas.

I do like the cocoa shells, it tastes like cocoa or dark chocolate. I’m not really getting orange flavour. There is some bitter citrus rind and some citrusy herbs (lemon balm), but nothing that tastes like a Terry’s chocolate orange. I LOVE orange chocolate. It is one of my favourite chocolate flavours. This needs some vanilla and more creaminess to really sell the chocolate aspect (although, the cocoa shells are a great start). The orange flavour isn’t there. Adding some dried orange pieces or orange essence might help. I’m not sure why a blend called chocolate orange wouldn’t have any orange in it, but it really should.

Flavors: Bitter, Citrus Zest, Cocoa, Dark Chocolate

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 8 min or more

I have come to find out that this tea is called orange, yet it is not flavoured. What they mean is orange as in “orange pekoe”. Still an ok cup, but misleading IMO. There is no citrus to be found. Lots of tannin but still smooth and overall a nice solid basic black tea.

Flavors: Tannin

drank Caramel Monkey Bread Rooibos by 52teas

I had this again (trying to finish up some teas to make room for whatever I keep from the TTB) but found no pastry/baked bread notes. Nor any caramel. Lots of cinnamon and some vanilla…it is certainly a wonderful blend, but I’m missing the pastry/bread and caramel in this cup. It makes a great latte though!

STTB Tea

This is really tasty cold. Lots of fresh fruit flavours, mostly stone fruit and mango. Some citrus (tangerine or Mandarin orange?) but I think I’m missing the strawberry and pineapple. Either way, it is so nice to have some fruity herbal blends to make iced tea with. I refuse to give up on summer.

Flavors: Citrus, Fruity, Mango, Stonefruit

Preparation
Iced 8 min or more

Update: Much better with some sweetner. I also get a lot more pistachio flavour by brewing it longer. I can see the appeal of this one.

Don’t try this hot: you have been warned

Iced, it is still extremely sour/tart and quite heavy on the hibiscus and fruity. I do taste the strawberry but didn’t get a ton of fresh or distinctly strawberry flavour. No pistachio flavour in my cup. Definitely some generic nuttiness, just nothing that is any distinct nut. It is quite difficult to make out the flavours because the sour is overwhelming. I will be trying it again with 3x more sugar to see if that makes it more palatable to me. I’m a sour wimp xD

Flavors: Fruit Punch, Fruity, Hibiscus, Nutty, Sour, Tart

Preparation
Iced 4 min, 45 sec

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)
