52 Tasting Notes
Umm. Well, it’s not bad. It’s just not the wonderful pineapple cake-y flavor extravaganza I was hoping it would be. I get a lot of caramel and brown sugar and what may be yellow cake but there’s not a hint of pineapple. It also tastes very thin to me. I’m wondering if I did something wrong…
Preparation
I feel like I’m getting sick so I’ll be stepping up my tea drink-age, starting with this one. This is an excellent cinnamon tea. I put a little honey in it to help my sore throat and I think it may have flattened the taste some. I’ll not add any with the resteep and see how it goes.
Preparation
Oh my, was this ever good! I made a cup for Mr.K after he got off work. He typically doesn’t choose flavored teas, preferring pu-erh and oolongs but today he chose this so I made up a cup. He asked for it no sugar, as typical and was disappointed when it tasted like “somebody put a dash of coffee in his tea.” I took it back from him, tasted it and decided it would benefit from some sugar. He okayed it, I returned to the kitchen to add the sugar. I tasted first before taking it to him and opined that it would greatly benefit from a splash of milk. Surprisingly, he also agreed to this and allowed it, but reiterated just a splash. Well, that splash made it. This ended up being a delicious, creamy dessert tea. Totally yummy!
Preparation
This wasn’t quite what I expected. Mainly what I was expecting was strawberry, pie or any combination of the two. What I got was cinnamon, which I found strange. This didn’t make for a bad cup of tea, I just didn’t get strawberry pie from it.
Preparation
My first Della Terra and I’m pretty disappointed. I like the aftertaste more than the actual tea. The dry leaf smelled like something from my childhood but it still didn’t win me over. This will be passed along. Maybe in the Decaf TTB, madametj.
Preparation
Meh. The dry leaf smelled like marshmallows and I was super pumped to try this. It smells great still but I’m missing any real flavor. It’s nice enough but I don’t get any cream notes like I’m smelling and my mouth is disappointed. Maybe I’ll overleaf next time.
Preparation
This is a tasty little tea. I’ve had a horrific week at work what with a piece of equipment not working and causing a backlog. Luckily, we’re getting it worked out and I can finally quit stressing over it! Using this as a relaxation tea (but really, aren’t they all?) It really did the trick. It was a little bitter. I have lots of floaties for some reason and I think they oversteeped. I’m overlooking the bitterness for the tasty coconut flavor. I’m really enjoying this and the de-stressing it is providing.
Preparation
I really liked this. It made for a really good cuppa. Until I got to the bottom of the cup. I dunno if I let it steep too long or what but it was very tannic and dried my mouth out. Still, worth it. Worth noting, it didn’t resteep well. Like, at all, you guys. My first cup was dark and smelled terrific. My aborted second cup was only slightly brown and smelled of nothing. So that was pretty disappointing.
Also, I think this finishes up my backlog from yesterday where Steepster went haywire. I drank countless cups because I was home and I could, gosh darn it!
Preparation
This was pretty good. Another one that I oversteeped, it looked like black coffee by the time I remembered it. It had a good flavor and I drank it down quick. The oversteeping prevented a good second cup though. Next time, I’ll keep a closer eye on it. My bad, tea.
Preparation
I could send you some! This was shared with me by Tea Pet so I’d like to pay forward her generosity! I have plenty. I think. I know I have more than one. I just don’t know which one I’m thinking of, I’ll check when I get home. My cupboard is so not up to date, it’s not even funny.
hmm, how much leaf did you use per cup?
A Teavana “Perfect” teaspoon full, maybe a tad more.
hmm, I dunno then! I found this one not too thin…generally I use 1.5tsp per 8oz with a black tea if I don’t know the specific amount required.
Sorry to hear you didn’t care for this one! I didn’t as much as I would’ve liked to, I definitely got cake flavour but I also managed to get some pineapple flavour as well…it was mostly the cherry that hid for me.
