237 Tasting Notes
So I went to pick up the DT order that I missed and actually WENT to David’s Tea as well to pick up some smaller quantities of things I wanted to try and this is one of the new ones. I think this is my last David’s tea order, because I’m planning on ordering from Butiki’s next time. With this order, I will have tried about 55 teas from David’s tea. Let’s see if I can match that same amount with Butiki. (Yes)
I am so hopeless.
So back to the tea. It smells great, a lot like Chocolate Macaroon actually, but I think the coconut ones really just all smell the same. This is actually very good. The base is not lost in all the flavors, and the rum element is very present without being gross. Sweet coconut and subtle butter flavors are also easy to find, and I actually tasted the faintest bit of cinnamon in there, although I do not think it contains any. I’m curious to see what it’s like with sugar.
Oh my goodness, I don’t know what it is tonight, but this is about 5x more delicious than it usually is. Is it just me or is there a possibility that it doesn’t always taste the same? Hmmm, I don’t know and I don’t care, I’m just in love with this cup of tea right now.
Omg this is so GOOD! It is a bit bitter, but the flavouring is so good that I don’t even care! Yum yum yum.
My DT order came today. And I missed it. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. So now I have to wait until tomorrow to get it (didn’t know post office is open on weekends??) Mailman, why you come so early? You always come at like 4pm. Why can’t you just work around my schedule? Boo.
Bah, it’s ok. At least this is delish and is making me forget about that.
So my mother’s day bouquet is rapidly declining now and I think I might go buy another bouquet this weekend because I just love having fresh flowers on the table. So beautiful.
This smells delicious. Mostly salty caramel and coffee. Mmm. I did underleaf it a bit so it is somewhat watery today but I still love that it gives me all the satisfying coffee taste minus the yuck of it. Don’t get me wrong, I love good coffee, but sometimes the aftertaste of it just bothers me now. Caramel, coffee, malt and earth are coming out to play and we’re having a blast. Absolutely no bitterness. Yums
Can I just start by saying that this is really not what I want right now. I really wish I had a plain black or a new white on hand, because I just don’t want anything flavoured right now. I have some gyokuro yamashiro but it’s just too vegetal for me right now.
This was a sample that came with my Butiki order. I am sad that I can’t have what I want right now (where is my teavivre order???) but at least I have this.
I am not getting any ginger from this at all. What I AM getting is sweet, sweet strawberry. The strawberry taste is simillar to that of the big pieces of strawberry in my grandmother’s home made jam. Oh wait, I found the ginger. The base is nice and fresh, and I’m really tasting it at the end, but only on some sips. I would buy this. Yeah. I have to buy this.
What black tea?
Reading all the other reviews, I feel like I am missing something. The lime flavouring is very intense and although I can kind of sort of half taste a hint of cheesecake in there, the lime is very POW and tastes like chemicals so it is hard for me to say…Will drink more and review properly then. Maybe it is just me.
I’ll admit it: I suck at icing tea. It never tastes the way it should. Ever. Too much water, too much sugar, the wrong tea, something always goes wrong. When I saw this, I thought “perfect, that’s for me!”
I really didn’t read the description well because I thought it would be loose, but it is in fact a teabag. Since I don’t want to make full pitchers when I drink iced tea, I ripped the teabag appart and took out what I needed for 1 glass of iced tea and put it in my steeper.
The finished product is quite tasty! It does taste like cotton candy without tasting too artificial and the tea has that little bite at the end that I always love in iced tea. This is very good.
So after folding ALL the laundry (like 5 loads ugh), I thought I deserved a treat. So I went into my tea cupboard and picked this one, walked over to my steeper, went to pour it out into the receptacle I use for disposing of leaves and AHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHD OMG OMG OMG OMG WTF IS THAT ON THE WINDOW?IS THAT A COCKROACH?!? WE’RE MOVING! TOMORROW!
Upon further investigation, it was very clearly not a cockroach, but some other inoffensive outside bug, thanks to my boyfriend who left all the doors and windows open earlier. Thank you Jesus. Whew. i really need this cup of tea now.
Man this stuff is good right now! I love the smell: all sugar and vanilla and anise. I always drink this with a splash of milk, just to make it a little softer. I may have added a bit too much milk though, because all I taste is the vanilla right now, with maybe a touch of something else in the background. Boo.
I’m upping my rating on this one. I really enjoy it.
