1118 Tasting Notes
I forget how good this Assam is. It’s thick and bready with fruity notes and a sweet honey finish. It’s a great breakfast tea, but I think it’d be just as pleasing in the afternoon. I wish I would have purchased more of this in my recent Upton order. It deserves a spot in my cupboard.
Preparation
Well, today has been less than wonderful. We were supposed to have our annual gingerbread house building today, but my daughter had a health scare, so we ended up in the ER instead. We’re home now, and she’s resting, but oy… I am exhausted.
I was really grateful to come home and put the kettle on for this tisane. I needed comfort, and I needed super yummy. This delivered. I really like the blueberry flavor here. It’s sweet but doesn’t taste fake or candy like.
Now I’m going to bed. Tomorrow will be better.
I used my last three pearls, and while I’m sad to no longer have this tea in my cupboard I really enjoyed this today. Wonderful dark chocolate and baked bread flavors. It’s as tasty as ever, and I enjoyed this cup from start to finish.
I’m proud of you for braving it out and actually using yours! I’m still hoarding my last two packets.
@Cameron B. – Yes, they do. It’s been out for a while… at least it seems that way!
@Fjellrev – I’m trying to break my pattern of hoarding teas. It’s entirely possible I’ll be crying into my tea cup at some point because all of my favorite teas are no longer in my cupboard, and my pocketbook says I can’t buy any more! :)
I enjoyed this one so much last night that I’m having it again this morning. It’s incredibly smooth and delicious. It morphs from steep to steep with some cups tasting deep and earthy while other cups are full of chocolate notes, hints of bread and honey, or leather and leaves. Every steep has been nice.
From the SanTEA Claus TTB
I think this is the last tea I need to review from this ttb. It’s taken me a while, but hey, I got it done. :)
I’m not a huge fan of white teas, but this one was a treat. The toffee flavor was light but present throughout the sip, and the tea itself had a clean – almost sweet – flavor. It was nice and refreshing while also feeling like a dessert tea.
Preparation
This came to me from the very kind Blodeuyn. Thank you!
This is a fairly light and fruity black tea. There’s lots of citrus as well as tropical flavors. I definitely taste pineapple and mango. A floral note is also present though it is much lighter than the fruit. Overall a really nice blend.
Preparation
So this has turned into a sipdown Saturday for me which is a good thing since I have quite a bit of tea on its way to me. Finishing off teas that I only have one or two teaspoons of seems like a good idea.
This tea is earthy and fruity. There’s a wood note along with leaves and wet earth as well as a sweet general fruitiness. The combination is very nice.
nice! is it different every year?
I’m not positive, but I think so. I read some of the reviews on Upton’s site, and some people mention how one year’s pick is better than another. They also have season’s picks for a lot of different teas.
