299 Tasting Notes
Ok, first of all, it doesn’t look a lot like the picture, but more like a pile of craisins that rolled though lawn clippings with anise on top. But, uh, in a good way? It smells almost completely of cranberry when it’s dry, but there’s not much cranberry after steeping, ime. Somehow the anise is really light and not at all overpowering like it tends to be. YUM. Downside: the chunks are so huge it’s hard to accurately judge servings? I tend to probably add TOO MUCH and I only have the wee little ornament packs so I doubt this will last very long with me. :P
Glad you liked it. I had a little sample in store and wasn’t that impressed. It wasn’t hot though so that might have been part of the problem.
Guess you didn’t get my package in the mail yet, eh? Hope you do soon!
Yeeeah, ewww, I don’t think I’d want this one not-hot.
No package yet! But I haven’t even SENT yours :P :P
I don’t know if it’s just that I’m sick, but maybe not because Kelly thought the same, but this is a really bland/weak tea. The candycanes are still charming, though.
The cats dipped their noses in this and sneezed and I can’t say I was too heartbroken to pour it out. :/ Weirdly, it was the xmas one I was most excited about! Enjoyed Sleigh Ride last night much more, but we’ll see how that one goes for the second cup.
Preparation
Teach me how to enjoy Sleigh Ride! :P
But I can honestly see how you would find this weak, too. The black tea isn’t there and it’s mostly vanilla-something with a pinch of peppermint.
Aww. Too bad you guys didn’t care for it. I liked it more than Sleigh Ride, but I wanted something sweet and lightly minty.
Yeah, I don’t tend to go for anything LIGHTLY mint. :P But I actually had it again today when I was intending to make Sleigh Ride (unmarked baggies!!) and liked it more this time. Not MUCH more, though. :P
CrowKettle, I’ll have to have it again so I remember what I liked! ;)
If you enjoy Baileys, this, along with Read My Lips (which tastes/smells like after eights)are somewhat improved by the addition imo :) I don’t know if it helps bring out the mint though.
Ok, I’m incredibly charmed by the little candycanes and had to instagram them. Cute!! But the thing I have noticed/am getting used to is that in a lot of these dessertish teas, there’s a lot of cloudy weirdness that takes a minute after steeping to fully dissolve. Weird, but okay. The first time I was like, ewwwww.. but I know it’ll go away now.
I bought this in the 3 ornament set package, bought 2 of the sets so I could give away stuff, but this one was always intended to be mine! >:D It’s good! Mild and yum and a little bit sweet (but not as sweet as it smells)… Idk about rating yet, I think I’ll wait until cup number 2.
Hehe. I spend a lot of time wondering what tea I’ll have next. <3
It’s part of dayplanning, amirite? ;D
