2291 Tasting Notes
Another tea from MissB! Turns out that I had put aside some herbals to check the ingredients for Bear With Me and CrowKettle… and totally forgot about them. Ahh well. They’re mostly small amounts that I can finish no problem.
I wonder what this tea description means by “elimination”. If I drink it this morning will I need to pee lots? I hope not, as I’m heading out for the day…
The tea didn’t really smell like anything, when I made it last night. It had lots of fuzz and floaties like chamomile, but there’s no chamomile in it. It’s not sweet at all. It tastes like… tree water. Really delicate deciduous tree water. With a little grass. Yep.
It’s pretty good cold as well. But not really anything super memorable or outstanding.
And I’m still wondering what exactly the effects are…
Thanks for sharing, MissB!
Preparation
Even though this is in a baggie in a tin, when I open my cupboard this is all I smell.
So of course it’s what I reached for this morning.
With a touch of maple sugar because I needed something sweet this morning. UGH. I have 30 minutes to drink my tea and get ready for work. Why early mornings, work? Why so many? Don’t you know I prefer to start at 10 or 11? :/
Preparation
I had this yesterday in a travel mug.
It was pretty good! Lots of vanilla, some baked goods flavours. I definitely enjoyed my cup, although I’m not sure I’d hunt down more. Weirdly vanilla isn’t a tea flavour I have a lot of unless it’s mixed in with other things.
Thanks so much, MissB! And Sil. :)
Preparation
There is spice. And apple. And I’m enjoying this mug of this tea.
Yep.
(1.5tsp/10oz)
Preparation
Thankfully no. Its unseasonably cold enough right now. I snuck out and turned the building thermostat up. :)
Many thanks to CrowKettle for the selection of Tippy’s Teas.
Unfortunately… yep, they’re dirt teas. With milk and the spices, it’s not so bad, but this isn’t my favourite base.
I kinda get how people taste cocoa and sweet potato, but only if the cocoa is unsweetened cocoa powder and the sweet potato is fresh from the dirt.
(Sorry, Tippy’s. It’s not you, it’s definitely me.)
Preparation
Oh no, mine are waiting at the post office for me to pick up, so I hope I won’t have the same experience as you.
You are not alone. I also have problems with dirt flavors, which is why I haven’t explored black teas nearly as much as I have explored oolongs and greens…
But I love Assams and other black teas. And I don’t really love oolongs or greens because they tend to taste mariney. :) My tastebuds are pretty special…
I bought a lot of tea again yesterday, Tea Frens. #whoops Right now I’m sniffing Murchie’s Sugar Maple. WHOA it smells so amazing. It’s kinda weird though because there are apple bits and… dried cherries? Or raisins? I’m not entirely sure. Mmm, it is pretty tasty though. I wouldn’t say exactly how it smells, but it’s nice.
And they’re dried cranberries. SO WEIRD, MURCHIE’S! So weird.
Preparation
Thanks for the tea, MissB!
Unfortunately, it just doesn’t smell good when steeped up. IDK what it is about it, but I keep getting wafts from the cup and wrinkling my nose wondering what smells so bad, since I’m bagging up all these French teas and they smell so good!
I think I know what the problem is though. It’s just lost all the pineapple flavour. It’s just a basic sencha base, which isn’t really my favourite kind of tea.
Well, thanks for the sample MissB, but if I want the full experience, I think I’ll need to go into the TWG store here and get a cup to go. :)
Preparation
LOL. I thought I’d try some teas as I was packing up, and I’ve already tried this one!
It’s really floral. Yet somehow I like it.
:)
Preparation
Honestly, my favorite steep of this tea is 3rd steep or so. The green just gets so sweet and the florals are toned down and it makes you think of those perfumes that you wish you could eat! Give a few more steeps a go, I think you’ll like it!
I’ll have to do that, thanks! I don’t usually rested teas but I should try it with these ultra floral French teas.
Sipdown. Delicious with some milk and a little maple syrup.
And maple walnut ice cream for breakfast.
Yep.
