I finished another tin of this today, and have transferred the one Dexter gave me into my cupboard.

YAY!

Favourite chai. So good. Yum yum yum.

Sil

yay!

OMGsrsly

My plan this weekend is to go through my teas and fill up bags for friends. If I’m not loving it, it’s gonna go! This will be SO EXCITING.

Sil

i need to do that sometime

OMGsrsly

It feels like a sound plan. :) We’ll see how it actually goes.

drank Chilli Kiss by T2

Yum! Lots of cinnamon, nicely spicy from the chili. Really enjoying tea with a bit of honey today.

Now… Do I keep it? Give it to a friend? Send it to Sil?

Idk.

Thank you so so much, MissB!!

Sil

i have a ton as well

OMGsrsly

You will be spared this one tea then!

I got this from keychange during the meetup. Yay! So excited! Only also so sad. Because it’s lost a lot of flavour. I should have used both bags for this cup, but I didn’t. Whoops. No fault of keychange’s, just an older tea that hadn’t been drunk and was in the “share or compost” pile.

It’s still tea, it’s just very weak. :)

ashmanra

The loose leaf version is also far more flavorful. Can’t wait until my sachets are all used up.

keychange

Oh yes, this was definitely in the “it’s been too long” pile. Sorry about that!

OMGsrsly

Not worried about it, keychange! It was still good to revisit the tea. :)

drank Snow Apple Spice by Silk Road

This is mostly cinnamon with some other spices and maybe some apple as well.

Anyways, Sil hasn’t tried this one so I get to offload some of it by sending her a sample. :D :D (Although it might have been in the bag I brought her. IDK. I’ve stopped trying to remember what I’ve sent people.)

Sil

nope my cupboard is up to date and doesn’t have this one

OMGsrsly

Oh good, because it’s already in your box. :)

I had this plain today in a travel mug, and sadly half of it ended up soaking my bag. Guess I didnt get the lid on quite right. :/

The half I did get to drink was really tasty though. Almost better than my morning coffee. ;)

keychange

Funny. I was just noticing earlier that this was on my wish list. Is her company based in BC? and sorry it spilled!

OMGsrsly

Oh, yeah! She’s in Sidney – on the way to Victoria. She has different suppliers than most of the places we have out here, which is nice.

OMGsrsly

She’ll ship, too! Let me find the website. Ok, the menu with prices is a PDF linked from this page. If you need help with it, just FB or text me!

drank Buttery Rum by Tealish

Had this morning as well. It’s even better with half and half instead of milk. :D

So creamy and delicious. Somewhat nutty which is maybe odd, but still good.

I should pack some of this up for Sil before I drink it all.

drank CHA THAÏ BOPF by Mariage Frères

A tea from MissB! Thank you!

So since I love the intensity of a balled CTc tea, it’s no surprise that I love this one. im drinking it right now hot, with brown sugar and coconut milk. I need to open a can of sweetened condensed milk I think… That would be divine.

The flavour is super malty and thick, lightly spiced. I don’t know that I taste chocolate notes, but this is what I think of (minus the star anise!) when I think of a Thai tea.

Yum! So glad I snagged the rest of it at the tea meet.

2 minutes at 195F. Definitely resteepable. I’ll be making iced tea at some point as well.

Preparation
2 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

I tried this tea yesterday along with everyone else, and I really really liked it. The toasty houjicha, the soft lemon… yum.

I was sad it wasn’t in stock, but I’ll definitely consider ordering when it comes around again.

I tried this one yesterday along with everyone else. I don’t know how Sil brewed it, but she tends to go with hotter temperatures than I do, for about the same amount of time.

So the base was a little too present, but I think it’d be fantastic with some milk and/or some sugar to bring the banana flavour out. I ordered some, because although I thought I was against banana flavours, it turns out that I love them. :)

Maddy Barone

I enjoy this one!

OMGsrsly

I’m really impressed with the three teas I’ve tried. And the west coastal people have now done a bigger order and I’m stealing bits from all their bags. Hehehe.

Indigobloom

I really love it with milk and a dash of sugar, it totally reminds me of banana bread with cream cheese on it (where without milk its just banana bread!)

Oh dear.

OH DEAR.

I may have just placed a huge group order for the new 52Teas, after trying them at the tea meetup at Sil ’s house! (It was so great to meet you all! Christina at the zoo (hehe!), keychange, Kittenna, IndigoBloom! Of course I already knew Sil and Cavocorax, and it was great seeing you too!)

I took a sample of this one, and ordered it without trying because, duh, it’s maple and cheesecake and tieguanyin. Even if I didn’t love it, it smells so amazing I’d be happy to spend the $4 on a sample pack and sit there sniffing it.

But the tea delivers. It’s really quite delicious. Steeped at 175F for 3 minutes, just because. The leaves mostly unravelled and the tea is gentle and buttery with a huge kick of maple flavour. I think it’d be fantastic with a little maple syrup or sugar added, and even with milk.

So I’m sitting here at home, drinking a friends tea out of my new Niagara starbucks mug, wishing that I didn’t have to go back to work tomorrow. That I had more time to explore Toronto. That none of us got sick.

Thanks so much for having me over, Sil!

was nice having you here :) was great you got to meet a few more of the gang as well!

Indigobloom

It was SO much fun having the group of us together. Even though some key tea peeps were missing! and that I got to meet some of ya for the first time! :)
wish I knew why this tea was kinda odd for me. Not terrible but really not great either!

OMGsrsly

It’s totally fake maple and butter. :) I can see how it wouldn’t work for people but I love it. So good. It was great meeting you as well! Thanks so much for sharing.

Indigobloom

yeah I think that might be it. Growing up we had a friend who always gave us real maple syrup from the farm so I may be a bit biased haha. Sharing tea is awesome. One day I will get back into swaps!
