2291 Tasting Notes
This one smelled so good, but then I tasted it.
Oh. Licorice root.
Oh.
Sorry tea. The licorice root and the fact that you taste a little swampish means that you’re going to join the last tea in the sink, and I’m going to go hunt down yet something else to try. Thanks for sharing, MissB, but this one was a total miss. So sad, because it smells amazing.
Preparation
Guurl Greggnog Tea Latte.
Of course.
This one I was really hesitant about, but it’s actually really freaking good. Eggnog and earl grey, who woulda thought.
Preparation
EGGNOG LATTE.
YES. DO IT NOW. SO GOOD.
Preparation
How do you make your eggnog lattes? I’ve seen so many people here talk about them but I don’t know the first place to begin. I would love to try it!
Shae— I am not sure how others do it, but here is my method. Heat up 1/2 of a mug of eggnog in a pot on the stove, whisking frequently to make foam (and to keep it from burning), but do not boil. At the same time, steep tea in half of the amount of water. Pour together into the mug!
I just make 1.5 cups of tea with the amount of tea leaves to make 2 cups, and add 1/2 cup of warmed eggnog. There are other ways, but my google-fu couldn’t find the DavidsTea recipe.
I managed to snag a couple servings of this and an unopened (!) sample pack of the Li Shan Black while in Toronto at Sil’s.
So good. I’m having this one first as it’s open, and that bothers me… it’s a nice, delicate, sweet tea. I haven’t been drinking teas like this lately, so it’ll be interesting to see what I think of the other as well.
I’ll probably try the rest of this gong fu later today, just because I can.
Preparation
TBH I kinda wish there was actually raspberry leaf in this tea.
Today I made it in a travel mug and I’ve brought it to work. It tastes a bit more like dirt, probably because of the echinacea root. And it’s sourer. More sour. Whatever. Probably due to the increased heat preservation of the travel mug VS a regular mug.
I still kinda like it. And I really hope I don’t get sick.
I hope you don’t get sick either! and I know what you mean about increased heat preservation changing flavours. Weird how that works.
Thanks, Indigobloom!
And Keychange, I also think that a cold ceramic mug cools the water a lot more and faster than a vacuum sealed metal one.
Yeah exactly. And the heat retention affects the flavor, even after the tea in a steel mug has cooled…
Glad you found a good one! It’s always frustrating when a cup is so bad you have to dump it.
