345 Tasting Notes
This last cup fail flat, I could still taste the vanilla bean I’ve adored in the past but it was almost like drinking vanilla water. It was a sample size that was not stored well that could be the problem. I’m not even sure if I like vanilla tea anymore after drinking this, which I need to figure out quick because I planned on having my mom bring back a ton of my favorite from London next month. Before tonight I had thought of this as one I would order if I was placing an order anyways and was running low on vanilla tea, now I’m not sure. Hopefully I just did not store it correctly.
First thing I notice is an alcohol smell and somewhere along the way I realize its rum, duh! I forgot all about the rum in Pina Coladas, I always associate the drink with the flavors pineapple and coconut. I really don’t remember the last time I had a Pina Colada for a number of reasons, a few being: I’m cheap, to many calories, my husband does not like coconut so I will never make it at home and I hardly drink anymore.
I do notice the pineapple and coconut, I can’t tell which one I notice more. The rum flavor stands out the most for me and makes me wish I had tried some of Frank’s other Rum teas already. Yum!
I was looking through my cupboard trying to find something I could finish, found this and thought it would be perfect. My husband loves chai’s and thought it could be an amusing tea moment before he goes out of town for a few days. I told him the name and that it was a chai. With a smirk he asked “What’s in it.” Grinning I said “Just a fun blend of tea.” As we sipped it, we knew it would not become a favorite but it was ok. Each sip was half funny chai half some kind of black tea. Then he noticed something fuzzy on his tongue and was trying to figure out what it was, I was busted. I had to tell him what I was trying to avoid telling him, it had Adagio’s chocolate chai which we had tried a few months ago and had a similar experience. He was done after that butt we had a few laughs.
Thank you jump62359 for giving me a chance to try this fun tea! I also checked out the reviews on Agagio. There was only one not so great review out of ten- A brother gifted it to his sister and she was not impressed but it made me laugh because it’s something I could see my brothers doing.
This is definitely a fun tea, but not necessarily good tasting haha.
My roommate bought it because it was shipped with Captain Jack Harkness. She didn’t fall in love with it so it was my job to spread the butt love and hope it’ll find a new home :)
Before opening presents Christmas morning, I got the kettle ready knowing I was getting this tea. As soon as I opened the can and smelled it, I quickly remembered I’m not always fond of raspberry and chocolate together. I must have picked this because of the decent rating and it was a high stimulant that I was looking for after getting away from coffee.
The handful of times I have had this, I find it most tolerable as a latte hot or iced because it helps mute the smell. 7 months later, the smell is not as strong as it was when I first opened it and my very last cup was the best.
I don’t regret getting this tea because I have happily shared it with those who wanted to try it and liked it but I don’t think I would get it again.
Another tea I split with keychange with our order months ago. This is great iced, tasted like strong sweet iced tea with some fruit without being sweet. Just what I was looking for with our A/C still on the fritz. It was ok hot but I tend to prefer fruit teas iced.
Preparation
It taste fine but I can’t get past the dry leaf smell. I was going to give to a former coworker who liked it but he left before I got a chance to. My brother thought it smelled like the candy peachie-o’s which seems like an accurate and nicer comparison than I would have used. It seems many people enjoy this it’s just not for me.
