Ah, my Japanese oolong from almost year old trip to Poland. And yet I am here to write a tasting note, which would be nonewhere as descriptive as that one from derk.
I preprared it western, quite heavy with the leaf using close to boiling water (I haven’t realised it is rather on the green side) with many stems in my strainer.
But it doesn’t seemed as a flaw in taste. It was… borrowing derk’s words indeed little with umami, dry grassy tea. Little a bit stone-fruity, as she mentions as well, little bit floral and little bit mineral. Flavours seem weak in taste but each other complement other one well.
Nice mouthfeel I will something I will mention as well. It was silky and lightly mineral, that’s something I have to agree again, with quite long aftertaste, compared to short flavour notes. Nice easygoing oolong for simple afternoons. There are days that you do not want a complex tea, yet some good one with nice flavours. This is that one tea.
Rating lower considering other oolongs I had before. Japan isn’t oolong country and somehow it is noticeable in this tea. However, it wasn’t bad and I highly suggest giving them a try. When I had it in Poznan, I wanted to rate it right after with rating around 90, so maybe it has suffered the age a bit as well, maybe I was affected with the coziness of tea room, great cake, nice service and that I was drinking something hot and tasty in cold, first January day.
You reviewed it well!
Thanks! However sometimes my keyboard is faster than actually writing. So many typos. I usually hunt them down between reading another notes.
