It seems I prepared it completely wrong last time!
New preparation method: 3 grams; 90°C water; 2 minutes steeping
All the too strong black tea notes… puff, they are gone. Yes, it is still nice base, quite strong too. But the flavour of the tea is different! I do notice mostly the lightly tart blackcurrant. In aroma there is mostly the vanilla combined with caramel. Like a caramel topping on the vanilla ice cream! The caramel sweetness is in the flavour as well.
Shame I couldn’t notice the bergamot, but overall it was working together! Maybe the base was slightly lighter because of this citrus — but not noticeable as in Earl Grey. I have last, not whole 3 grams, so certainly I have to try to focus on that fruit.

I am glad it improved a bit for you!
Looking back I was surprised I was steeping flavoured black tea for 5 minutes! That steep must be very strong in black tea notes and probably overpowered the rest.
