1324 Tasting Notes
Been having some reoccurring health issues again lately so I haven’t been really feeling like drinking any loose leaf teas. It’s pretty much just a waiting game until I can see the new specialist. Back to the tea this one is a really nice bagged tea the rose, tulsi, and fruitiness from the rosehips really blend well here. I’m interested in seeing what the other teas from this collection taste like. The Aloe one they offer sounded good. The packaging here is also very pretty.

I had meant to drink this one yesterday but didn’t end up getting around to it. Creme Brulee is not something that I’ve tried before but I do sort of know what it’s supposed to taste like. This one is pretty yummy and does taste like burnt sugar with a little custard. I think the oolong base works really well here and you can definitely taste it. It’s milky and a tad floral. As it cools the oolong flavor comes out more and more. I would definitely consider buying some of this one.

Sipdown Challenge: Valentine’s Day
This one is a sad one, I think it is a highly underrated chocolate tea. I wouldn’t mind having more of this one in my cupboard. It’s nice and chocolatey with some mushroom notes and woodiness. The cocoa shells are really nice here and don’t come off as fruity. Overall it’s very earthy but I dig it.
Flavors: Cocoa, Creamy, Dark Chocolate, Earth

Rose always reminds me of Valentine’s Day so I tried to stick to V-Day inspired teas today. This one is really yummy and I’m almost out of it, unfortunately. It has kind of an almost champagne taste to it along with the rose it is also somewhat fruity.

This is probably my second cup of this tea since receiving it? I was happy to try another Bird and Blend Tea as I’ve only tried a couple of teas from them in the past.
This one is quite flavor-forward I would say. It’s very citrusy lemon and orange, in particular, is what I’m tasting and at times the chamomile and citrus almost clash a little bit. I have mixed thoughts on this one because it is so nice but I think I usually reach for night teas that lean more towards tasting floral compared to citrus. It was interesting seeing that this one is on a white tea base but I can’t taste any of the white tea. I do feel pretty calm after drinking this which is always a plus!

Opened a bag I had of this for my class this morning. It was the last day though this particular class only met for two weeks. This tea is one of my favorites It’s been my go-to morning college classes tea for a few years now. Great plain or with Soymilk. I’m not a morning person so a little incentive always helps. I need to find more yummy Chocolate Raspberry teas or flavored mates.
On a Sidenote is anyone else making Cookies for Valentine’s Day? I’m planning on trying out a Fluffernutter cookie recipe tomorrow and just finished baking some Pistachio cookies.
Preparation
We made the most amazing vegan chocolate peanut butter mousse pie. It turned out incredibly! How were your cookies? Also, I love raspberry tea in general, and the S&V Valentine’s Blend of raspberry chocolate is delicious.
It wasn’t for Valentine’s Day, but I made snickerdoodles to crush up into my homemade banana pudding ice cream! I meant to only taste it yesterday, but accidentally had a lot!
The cookies well lets just say they aren’t photo worthy since grocery stores are closed here and I didn’t have any parchment paper. They tasted really good though and were really fun to make! I’ve been meaning to order from S&V at some point and will definitely try and get some of that one when I order.
@AJRimmer That sounds delicious!
@Tea-sipper I’ll definitely have to get my hands on some then!
One of the lovely samples AmandaStory sent me.
This is my first tea from 52Teas and I’ve been meaning to try them for quite a while now. Especially since they are local.
The pear and the green tea both come through in this tea together. I’m not getting any amaretto which is a bit disappointing but there is definitely a strong ‘Cream’ note throughout the cup that reminds me of heavy cream. Yum, I would say that this is probably not a tea for someone who doesn’t like green tea (I love green tea myself) because the green tea base comes through pretty strong in this one. I can’t think of another tea I’ve tried that has a true cream note as this one does. I don’t know that this one would be a repurchase for me only because I have quite a few other pear teas that I love and have a bit more going on. If this was reblended and the amaretto was discernable it would definitely make this tea stand out more.

Your first 52teas! And they are local! I don’t even know if you can visit 52teas? Or you can only buy online?
I think you can only buy online but I’ve been meaning to ask Anne if I can just pick them up in person. Well once Covid isn’t a worry anymore.
We’re an online company only – but Lexie – we can work something out – meet somewhere to get the tea if you’re in Vancouver? We also head to Portland about once a week or so – if you’re in Vancouver. But we’ll need to arrange for such a thing when the scare of covid is over because my SO is one in the very risky category. But we can definitely work something out – just contact me via our contact page when you’re ready to do something like that.
@Tea-Sipper – we don’t have a brick & mortar yet – we hope to eventually have one somewhere in Portland. I figure for our limited edition type of thing – 52Teas would fit in perfectly with the weirdness that is Portland. Vancouver might be a bit too normal for us.
My dream is to have a tea & treats kind of place that would offer our teas with treats that match some of our unique flavors. :)
Well wishes to you, Lexie Aleah <3
Thanks (:
Get better soon!
Get better soon as well!
The boxes and labeling appear to have changed (Bigelow does that a lot) but they have a chamomile citrus that is very gentle and refreshing.
Hope you feel better very soon!
Thanks, everyone <3
Gmathis- I think I’ve tried that one it was nice. Can’t go wrong with chamomile.
