Got a package from the Oolong Owl today. Decided I should have the oolong first. It smells a bit summery, like creamy peach, with some apple notes. The flavour is fruit and cream, and hints of nuts. Nice in my current weather.
Flavors: Apple, Apricot, Cream, Creamy, Fruity, Nuts, Peach
I’m dreaming of a White Christmas, just like the ones I remember from Tahoe.
Recommended to me by the Oolong Owl. There is a nice scent of white chocolate and nuts. Perhaps hazelnut. The flavour is sweet, nutty, a little creamy, and reminds me of cookies. Has a good base tea too. Very enjoyable festive blend. Went well with the almond crescent cookies. Didn’t notice any apricot though.
Heureux Hiver!
Flavors: Cookie, Creamy, Hazelnut, Nuts, Nutty, White Chocolate
Happy Winter Solstice! Last night, I attended a Solstice Festival. There were farolitos (festive paper lanterns), and some were set up as a labyrinth. Very fun.
Today, I made the usual almond crescent cookies. And my new cookbook came in the post. Decided I would try this tea. It smells nicely like strawberry pastry with some coconuts notes. There is a sweet strawberry flavour, and hints of floral.
Flavors: Coconut, Floral, Pastries, Strawberry
I’ve been drinking a lot of this tea lately. It smells awesome, like honey and yams. Goes well with breakfast, especially french toast. The flavour is mostly sweet potato, with notes of honey and hints of nuts. (Trying to sipdown some of the Butiki Teas before the year’s end.)
Flavors: Honey, Nuts, Nutty, Sweet Potatoes, Yams
Only a few more days until winter. Looks like it here though. This nice has a very nice malty scent. The flavour is a smooth malt. Simple, but really good.
Having my second cup while listening to Celtic holiday music. And some pecan pie.
Flavors: Malt
Today, I am thankful our capital city has fun shops. (And books… as always.) I found this store while wondering around. Got a sample because it smelled really good. There is a nice scent of lavender, and some bergamot. The flavour is mostly lavender, with hints of citrus. Overall, it feels very… cozy. Good for the season of pre-winter.
Flavors: Bergamot, Citrus, Lavender
Found this while I was looking for The Au Chocolat (which is still missing). More of a Spring tea, but I am having it in Almost Winter anyway. There is a fantastic berry cocoa scent, it reminds me of those Japanese candies. The flavour is a nice, rich dark chocolate. With some nice strawberry notes. Good for this season too.
Flavors: Berry, Cocoa, Dark Chocolate, Strawberry
This morning was our first snow of the season. While it mostly melted now, the air is still cold. There is a nice nutty scent. That comes out in the flavour nicely.
I like hojicha for cold weather, it tastes comforting. Good for today.
Flavors: Nutty, Roasted Nuts
