I’ve enjoyed TeaLeaves in the past, so I was happy to find this in the Strange VariaTea TTB. I find it overly annoying that the teabag wrapper has lots of flowery writing but doesn’t actually specify what kind of green tea it is. I looked it up on their website and apparently this uses “1st flush (spring) Young Hyson teas. Known as ‘Flourishing Spring’ or ‘Yu Chin Cha’, this organic green tea is selected from Chun Mee (small, twisted leaf) with a small percentage of Foong Mee (larger, curly leaf).” Which… the wrapper could totally have just said “a blend of organic chun mee and foong mee green teas,” right?

Anyway, this is tasty. It’s vegetal, a bit dry, and almost smoky. Not fresh-peas vegetal, more like savory vegetal. Happy I got to try it but not something I feel the need to keep in stock.
