Mmmm, had this with a touch of skim milk. It’s so good and satisfying on a cold, grey day like this.

drank Egyptian Licorice by Yogi Tea
1908 tasting notes

Argh, Yogi’s teabags always tear on me for some reason – I hate having floaty bits in my tea!

Steeped for 3.5 minutes. No matter how much or how little I steep it it tastes like I’ve added 3 or 4 teaspoons of sugar due to the licorice root in the tea.

Boiling 3 min, 30 sec

drank Tropical Fruits Red Tea by Vykasa

Fruity but kinda bland, I think it needs to be steeped longer than the reccomended 3 minutes.

I was a bit confused because despite this being called a ‘red tea’ it isn’t rooibos-based but Ceylon tea-based.

drank Yunnan Jig by Adagio Teas

Drank another cup this morning. I steeped it for 4.5 minutes and noticed a bit less smokiness but still none of the black pepper taste Adagio claims it has.

Boiling 4 min, 30 sec

I’ve been pondering this one for a while but haven’t pulled the trigger. How does it taste? Is it medicine-E tasting!?

Jillian

Eh, I’m not terribly thrilled with it. It doesn’t taste bad but it’s kind herby and vaguely sweet and not much else. As for the health benefits, well I haven’t noticed much difference. shrug

That tartness disguises most of the green tea flavour unfortunatly. And I supect the company is cheating and using hibiscus instead of the actual fruit flavours for all their pomegranate/cranberry/raspberry teas because they all taste remarkably similar, I find.

Thumbs down for you Stash!

I accidently added too much milk and that kinda drowned the flavour. Oops. :(

I was wrong, I did have another bag. I stuck this cup in the fridge and it made an interesting and refreshing iced tea, though the chamomile taste is quite strong when it’s cold for some reason.

My first taste of Yunnan! The leaves were longer than I’m used to seeing but it was neat watching them expand and unfurl while they steeped (5 minutes).

I’m not entirely sure what they meant by ‘peppery’ in the description, to me it tastes more smokey but with a cleaner, vegetale undertone almost like what you’d get in a green tea maybe.

This is one I’ll have to experiment with the steeping time more, but I think it’s quite enjoyable thus far. It’s robust enough that it’d probably be a good wake-me-up tea to have in the morning.

I’m a university student in her twenties who’s currently working her way toward a Bachelor of Natural Resource Science degree. I love both science and science-fiction and I’m a history nut on top of that. Maybe I should just call myself a nerd and leave it there. ;)

I’ve been drinking tea since I was young but it’s only in the past couple years that I’ve become interested in the good-quality stuff.
