My scoop is starting to scrape the bottom of the container. whimpers I oversteeped this a little but it’s still soooo deliciously good.

I was putting together X-mas cards and tea-trading stuff to mail to people yesterday and one of the teas I sent was this one. I had the box beside me on the kitchen table and it kept tempting me with its wonderful sweet, nutty odor. But as it was late I knew I couldn’t have a black tea (or I’d be awake unil 5 am).

So this morning the first thing I did was open the tea cupboard and pounce on this tea. :D

The air is so dry right now I have an almost constant sore throat. This tea always feels so nice and soothing going down.

I forgot to log the pot of this tea that I drank yesterday when I was at the coffee shop with some friends. It’s a really nice black tea especially wth a bit of milk- the milk seems to enhance the delicate vanilla flavour.

drank Grapefruit Oolong by Adagio Teas

I resteeped the leaves from last night and it’s more grapefruit-y than the first steeping although there’s still a hint of woodiness and sweetness.

drank Lady Grey by Twinings

This is a much gentler tea than most Earl Greys, the citrus and bergamot are a smooth-tasting hint rather than a bold statement.

I’m still getting the wood-spice smell and flavour but it’s not as pungent at this steeping time. On the whole the tea is sweeter tasting too and the tang of the grapefruit isn’t as sharp.

drank Chestnut by Adagio Teas

This tea doesn’t seem to re-steep well, unfortunately. It still smells lovely but it basically just tastes like plain tea with a hint of something. Pretty bland in other words.

After my disapointement last time I decided to give this tea another try. I kept the steeping time much shorter and the result were much, MUCH better. Like other people have said, the tastes does remind me quite a bit of hazelnut, although it really has a flavour all of its own; rich and nutty with an almost liqueur-like quality to it. And the smell! I just can’t stop sniffing this tea. :D

oooh, you know “smell” is a big factor with me.

Be careful — that could be illegal in some states.

A longer steeping seems to improve the taste somewhat – or maybe it’s just that my tongue is still asleep.

I’m a university student in her twenties who’s currently working her way toward a Bachelor of Natural Resource Science degree. I love both science and science-fiction and I’m a history nut on top of that. Maybe I should just call myself a nerd and leave it there. ;)

I’ve been drinking tea since I was young but it’s only in the past couple years that I’ve become interested in the good-quality stuff.
