67 Tasting Notes

If you’re really into the taste of hot St. Joseph’s chewable aspirin, then you’ll love this tea. Personally, I dumped it after half a cup. But my Mom likes this tea, so that’s why the rating is as high as it is.

Slightly better by using brown sugar instead of white sugar and by using a touch of skim milk instead of half-n-half. Still disappointing, but not as much as when I first tried it.

When Mom first brought this tea home, I thought “these flavour combinations can’t work.” Then I tried a mug, with a drizzle of honey. Oh, it works. (“It’s twue!”) It hasd a great smell, a lively colour and goes well with food or just by itself. A nice tea to drink while reading.

This is one of my Mom’s fave teas. When I first tried it with real honey as a sweetener, I thought it had a strange artificial-sweetener-like aftertaste. But a couple of nights ago I had it with brown sugar and steeped in a larger-than-usual type mug. Wow. What a difference! Much nicer than CS’s regular chamomile.

This is much, much better with brown sugar than with white sugar. When I had it with white sugar, all I could taste was the peppermint, which was so strong it caused my throat to tighten and made swallowing difficult. But with the brown sugar (and brewed in a mug than I normally use) it turned into a very nice, tummy-soothing tea that also goes well with chocolates. It’s not the best mint blend tea I’ve had, but it’s the best for its price range.

OK, I tried this with brown sugar instead of white sugar and that has dramatically improved the taste. Now, it’s quite a smooth-drinking tea. I may try it iced some day.

I had this at Border’s bookstore. I needed to get more energy in order to spend money. It gets really tiring when you walk around with your head tilted to the right. Anyway, I was suprised to see that this time the tea was loose leaf and placed in a mesh sleeve that could be easily pulled out from the cup. This was noticeably better thanthe bagged version. It also went well with the slice of pumpkin spice cake I had. I managed to get over $120 worh of books (and a U2 CD) while I only had $70 worth of gift cards on me. Can I blame the tea?

You make me miss Border’s… What a great store that was! It’s a shame they went out of business… I suspect the café had a bit to do with it though, I spent many nights there reading books I never purchased…

I received two boxes of this for Xmas. Whoo-hoo! It’s even better than the Afternoon black teas and light years better than their Darjeeling. I don’t think it’s as good as the 1894 blend, but then it’s been a couple of years since I had that. Could it be that my memory is playing tricks on me?

Anyway, each bag is strong enough to make two average sized cups or one big honkin’ big cup (or small teapot). I also got a honkin’ big tea mug for Xmas which pictures of my dog on it. If I ever disappear for long stretches at a time from Steepster, you know where I am.

If you’re on a diet, don’t sniff this tea. It smells strongly of almond cookies. It’s a mild and mellow dessert tea or a tea to help ease cramps. If I’m not careful my Mom will polish it off before I get the chance. I wonder if other tea companies do a chamomile and almond mixture.

I’d think you should not only sniff, but drink, this when you’re on a diet because it’ll help you to keep away from the cookies.

I’m not sure what, if anything, you’re looking for in the other ingredients but I found a few here. http://steepster.com/search?products=on&q=chamomile+almond

Sniffing this tea makes me run to the shop and stock up on cookies. Thanks for the heads up about the other chamomile & almond teas.

Cofftea

Ah, ok. I’d just run to the tea pot.:)

My Mom got me a box for my birthday. I finally opened it up last night, because my cold has let up and my taste buds are working again. WHOA, Dude! Is there enough caffeine in there??? I think if I had made the tea in a larger mug I would’ve been found clinging to the ceiling with my fingernails. I forgot about that affect. I also forgot that you only need to steep this for a minute or two or it will get very bitter and load even more caffeine into the tea.

Doctorbob

There is MORE than enough caffeine in there. I made a pint this morning using 1 bag. Two hours later I am wondering if I am sick or is that just the caffeine still rushing through my head. We like this tea, but I suspect there is more than simple leaves in those bags. Could someone be doping the product to boost sales?
