160 Tasting Notes
Holy goodness. I got my Black Friday Della Terra boxes in yesterday so I’ll be posting a few new reviews in the next few minutes. This is the first one I tried and I swear I will make sure I never run out of it. This is so delicious, naturally sweet, the perfect amount of cinnamon, it literally tastes like a cookie. I’ll be dreaming of this tea all day at work and cannot wait to get home to enjoy a cup. I’m going to be purchasing an extra bag for my oatmeal raisin cookie loving dad for Christmas too.
I was expecting way more from this tea. I was drinking my new Della Terra teas last night and this is such a fun flavor that I thought I’d be on cloud nine. It does not taste like cookies and cream, period. Upon first sip, my thought was “this tastes like rum”. I suppose that isn’t negative for everyone, but I was hoping more for cookies. It does have a chocolatey smell once brewed, like melted chocolate chips and some flowery notes.
I brewed it for 3 mintues and it’s a bit bitter for me. All of this said, I’m probably still going to drink this during the work day today because the more I think of it as a slightly random flavored black tea, the more I’m ok with it. If you’re expecting it to taste as good as Della Terra’s flavored teas…lower your expectations.
My last cup of tea at work in my rush between clients before I can go home to my Della Terra Eight Candles :) Or…hopefully one of my 3 Black Friday tea purchases in the mail!! I like a nice plain assam or ceylon tea, so this is a good end to the work day and the lack of flavored teas today makes me really look forward to a delicious treat this evening!!
Drinking this right now, it’s ok. Red wine ish flavor, it’s a nice strong brew, but it isn’t something I will reorder or drink without blending anymore. It has an ok rating which is cool, but I’m just not a big fan. I’ll stick to Assam Melody for my plain black tea for now until something better comes along.
I brought a few premade teabags to my cousins for Thanksgiving because I don’t drink alcohol and I still had a S’mores teabag left in my tote! Yay! That means I can drink a delicious desserty tea at work, which I wasn’t planning on doing today.
I so love this tea, subtle chocolatiness, creamy marshmallow feel, with a bit of graham cracker spice.
