78 Tasting Notes
Well this was an interesting one that I couldn’t wait to try. I love all things ginger and thought that this was going to be a good mix, spicy and woodsy.
When I opened up the baggie it smelled kind of lemony with ginger… I couldn’t place the smell but it seemed familar. I brewed it up and it was such a beautiful deep red color. Another whiff and the ginger was bit more pronounced.
First taste and it was really mellow smooth, smoother than other Rooibos, I didn’t get the woodsy taste at all it was a citrusy with a bit of ginger not the spicey ginger but more of a candied ginger.
After a few sips I finally placed the smell, it smells like a Ricola lemon cough drop :) Once I figured that out it was kind of hard to get past the smell. The taste is good just the smell that got to me!
Preparation
This is so GOOD! I opened up the package and it smells like a sweet lemonny sugar cookie to me… very mellow lemon cookie but it smells so yummy. I did the brew according to the directions only two and minutes for a black tea. It brewed up such a pretty reddish amber color, and then I took a sip…
Mmmm, this is so smooth and mellow and delightful. You can taste the almond and the citrus, it is such a nice blend. I can taste a bit of the tea in the background but really it is a sweet citrus taste, it is so good and smooth. It leaves my mouth feeling happy! I think that I am going to have to order some of this!
Yummy!
Preparation
MMMM this tea smells really good… Not super amount of coconut but you still get whiffs of it, but you can smell the rooibos and something else that makes it very smooth or creamy smelling.
I steeped it and tasted it, for me it was a bit too woodsy ( the rooibos) so I sweetened it just a bit. I could taste the coconut at the end just a bit and my mouth had a creamy fullness in it. This is pretty goood!
Thanks so much for sending us samples really fun to taste new teas!
Preparation
I couldn’t wait to try this… thanks SimplyJenW! This made my day, it smelled a bit like chocolate bananas…maybe it is the maltyness…
After steeping it has much more of a chocolate malt smell. First sip and it was just really good… i am super impressed. The sweetness from the honeybush really brings a great compliment to the chocolate. It has a nice sort of tangyness that reminds me of a chocolate malt! When it cools it is truly good chocolate.
Another one well done Frank!
Preparation
This tea is so unique and fun! When you open up the bag.. it smells like a Werthers candy… the strawberry and creme one… yummy!
I steeped it and it said just to steep for 2-3 min. for a black tea.. seems short but went with it. Boy am I glad that I went with it.
First taste is warm creamy black tea with a hint of strawberry… so good! I can’t believe how good this is. I wasn’t to sure if I would like this but I really do. I let it cool a bit and it allowed the strawberries to come out and when they came out to play they left my mouth nice and juicy. I love the creaminess and the fullness of this tea it is really really good, if you like strawberries and cream try it you won’t be dissapointed!
Preparation
Yummy this is a really good vanilla tea…
When I first opened the package it smelled so good.. like a vanilla candle… really strong and sweet… but I also kept getting whiffs of something else… not sure what it was, but it smelled good, maybe a bit of almond?
Brewed this up and it is nice and smooth, sweet and delicious. The first taste was black tea with a hint of vanilla at the end to add a bit of sweet yumminess to it. This is my second favorite as far a vanilla teas go. When it cools down you get more vanilla which I like, it can be pretty strong it is not a delicate flavor so if you like strong vanilla flavors than this is for you… it really does taste like it has real vanilla beans in it!
Preparation
I steeped it and sweetened it just a bit and the first sip was very soothing and mellow cinnamon… I thought that this would be perfect on a cold wintery day… sitting in front of the fire. I let it cool a bit and sure enough there was the pear flavoring mingling with the white tea, cinnamon and clove. It was the last taste left on my tongue and it left my mouth feeling juicy! I don’t know how Frank does it but I am super impressed with his teas!
I personally like to ice white teas but I am not sure if I would like to ice this one with the spices in it?!?!?! Not sure but may have to try it sometime! I am super glad I got this tea.
Preparation
Holy cow does this tea smell good… it smells just like vanilla flavoring with a hint of smoothness. It smells so good I had to open the canister again for a second sniff… this will definitely be going to school with me since it is in a tea bag.
This tea is the first bag of tea that I have fallen in love with. When brewing it was almost like a sugar cookie was cooking in the oven. Even my husband came in and asked me what smelled so good!
The first taste of this tea the smell was great but the taste was just so so for me… But I have realized that I need to let it cool a bit to get more of the flavorings. When warm all it tastes to me is black tea which is not a bad thing but I want the sweetness. So I tasted it a bit later and oh my goodness oh my goodness this is heaven in a cup! It is so good and sweet and just perfection in a cup! I love it! Please, Please try this if you like sweet, vanilla teas. You won’t regret it.
Hmmm I wonder how this would mix with the chocolate truffle from praise tea company… would that be to much?!?!? I would get the sweetness and the chocolate hmmm might have to try it!
Preparation
I think that I have found my chocolate tea! This is sooooo good! Yum,yum, yum. When I opened this up it smelled like a chocolate truffle, deep dark and delicious! Brewed it for about 3min. which I thought was sort of short for a black tea but it seemed to do the trick.
First taste, it was a bit bitter… like semisweet chocolate… so I added just a bit of sugar and tasted it again, you can taste the chocolate but the tea is still there which is good! It does taste a bit like hot chocolate or dark hot chocolate which would be a better description. I let it cool a bit( which I have found really brings out the tastes) and wow does the chocolate pop it was great, I love it… next time I may add a bit of milk to get more of a fullness.
At the end of the cup there is a bit of liquid dark chocolate yum, yum,yum that is all I can say!
