35 Tasting Notes
I had this when I went to see Skyfall the other night. I was in the mood for tea, (When am I not?) and the movie theatre sold Tazo teas. Luckily, we also ordered food, which allowed the ridiculously hot water to cool before I steeped it.
I really enjoyed this! Thankfully, the guy behind the counter gave me an extra bag. I can try it again while not watching an action flick, so as to do a better review. This tea stood up well to the half and half and packet of raw sugar I added. (Too embarrassed by my earlier stuttering episode to ask for something different, so I just threw in whatever was on the counter.)
Strong flavors, but not overpowering. I have plenty of Earl Grey in my tea cabinet right now, but I think I would consider purchasing this one. I don’t normally like Tazo, so that surprised me.
Preparation
I really didn’t care for this one. To me, it didn’t taste anything like apple cider…just hibiscus. I prepared it without any sugar, so I will give it another shot with sugar, and see how it goes. I’m not hopeful. :(
I really wanted to like this tea!!!
Preparation
When I was little, a family friend used to bring me the little figurines from his boxes of Red Rose tea.
I’ve been going through some rough times, and haven’t been feeling the best. My more expensive teas have just been set aside for now, I don’t want to waste them. I came across one of my little figurines in a recent move, and so I picked up a box of this for nostalgia’s sake.
So now I am sitting here, with a little sandcastle in my hand, sipping this tea. It’s your basic store-variety black tea, nothing astounding…but it’s familiar. My husband was thrilled when I opened the box. He caught a whiff, and it was familiar to him, too. I guess everyone knows someone who has had this tea in their cabinet.
I added a bit of 1% milk and a packet of sugar to this. Settled on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, and two purring kitties beside me. Maybe this can heal my heart.
Preparation
I’ve been spoiled by loose leaf tea. As I drink this, I’m comparing it to all of the nutty, wonderful loose leaf teas that I like better. That’s not really fair to this tea, but there it is.
This is a light, sweet treat. I think that’s what it is…I’m used to black teas with a little more “Oomph”. I’d like it to have more kick. That being said, it tastes like a cookie when you add a packet of raw sugar and some milk. Yummy.
Preparation
This has a very “bakey”, thick flavor. My guess would be that that is the barley. I had this with milk and a packet of raw sugar and it was a great sweet treat. I’m pretty sure that I will be picking up another box of this before the display runs out because I am liking it more and more each time I drink a cup.
I steep this for ten minutes. The poor indicator at the bottom doesn’t even go that high! :)
