Got this recently from Aliexpress King Tea. Banzhang on this is the brand name. It is not a Lao Ban Zhang tea. This was a fairly tasty ripe tea. It had partially cleared, not having too much fermentation flavor. It was bittersweet in the start. This gradually evolved into a sweet taste. I really enjoyed this tea. I brewed this in my silver teapot from Yunnan Sourcing. I can’t tell you how that effected the flavor at all or even if it did. There was something of a fruity note towards the end of the tea session and I think I would say there were some notes of chocolate in there somewhere. This was not a long lasting tea. I brewed 14.1g of tea in a 195ml teapot and the eighth steep was weak. I only gave it eight steeps because it was quite a large teapot for gongfu brewing.

I steeped this tea eight times in a 195ml silver teapot with 14.1g leaf and boiling water. I gave it a 10 second rinse and a 10 minute rest. I steeped it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, 25 sec, and 30 sec. While this was a very solid tea it was not what I would call phenomenal.

I am Allan. I live and work in Long Island, New York. I have been amassing a tea collection for nearly two years and have spent way too much money. I now try to buy mostly Puerh as I like it most and it lasts nearly forever. Black tea has a habit of going bad. If anyone is interested in tea swaps I am open to ideas and have quite a cupboard.
